‘The Immigrant’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Round Up

Premiere Round Up 1

Here is a quick round up of the rest of the attendees from tonight’s Cannes Film Festival premiere of ‘The Immigrant’ held at Palais des Festivals in France.

Karlie Kloss: While this dove grey feather festooned Louis Vuitton look is an improvement on yesterday, her fellow models have left her in the shade by embracing what this festival is all about: OTT gowns.

Izabel Goulart: Now this is more like it. Izabel rocked a black strapless Emilio Pucci gown as Peter Dundas and god intended. Thigh-high slit, check, OTT jewels, check, glamorous bouffant, check. Izabel gets more than a pass.

Bianca Balti: I desperately wanted to love Bianca’s vibrant hued Chanel Couture dress, just for the colour and uniqueness alone, but between the painfully awkward length and black pumps, this is a reluctant no from me.

Premiere Round Up 2

Isabeli Fontana: This white Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2013 jumpsuit with a train draped from the shoulder could’ve worked, had the pants been tailored so they didn’t drag on the floor. This is still my bug-bear on the red carpet, after black pumps of course.

Eugenia Silva: I would love to give Eugenia a pass, but this tent-like sheer Dolce & Gabbana maternity-esqe gown isn’t doing it for me. Being sheer doesn’t make it sexy.

Juno Temple: There’s something about the metallic look which I was instantly drawn to, but the extreme kohl-rimmed eyes and black clutch took it from an 8 to a 5.5.

Wow, it is basically impossible to find a good look on this bunch. Izabel’s look might be the less worse but it doesn’t mean I like it. Her too sexy, too in-yer-face style is nothing but tiresome. I can’t stand another big slit or cleavage coming from her.
I’m surprised how bad Isabeli looks. Her hair is awful and the jumpsuit is terribly ill-fitted. A very unpolished look for a Cannes red carpet.

Karlie’s Louis Vuitton look could have been worn soooooo much better by someone else at a less fancy event. I love the Vuitton shoes though.

Isabel is the best of them

I appreciate the fact that Karlie’s experimenting with something less obvious. When you hear her in interviews she’s genuinely interested in fashion, and even though to some this may be too mature for her it’s nice to have someone young not wear something that screams “I’M TWENTYSOMETHING AND SEXY LOOK AT ME!” *cough* *cough* Selena Gomez

  4. Reez May 25, 2013 at 13:30 #

    Karlie’s is Louis Vuitton

  5. Ariel May 25, 2013 at 13:05 #

I like Karlie except the shoes.
Izabel is nice but a big time cliche.
Bianca s dress is great, but I dislike the styling and shoes.
    NO to Isabeli.
    Eugenia is OK, but boring.
Juno’s dress is amazing, but not the styling!

Karlie Kloss is wearing Louis Vuitton and Bianca Balti is wearing Chanel Couture. Juno Temple might be wearing Louis Vuitton too or Marc Jacobs.

      Ok. thanks

  7. Bec May 25, 2013 at 08:29 #

Do models not have stylists? haha

Izabels look is so… – NOT Angelina Jolie. “Her” necklace irks me. The only thing right is the shoes…Generally this parade in my opinion is a tad too “supermodelly” for a FILM festival… They are not the main focus of this event. I seriously doubt that this” clothingfrenzy” will bring them any closer to a career in the movies … The demand for Bond babes is limited…

Izabel looks spectacular! Perfect from head to toe! I’m glad Karlie looks better but I know she can do better, where is Jason Wu when we need him. I also really want to like Bianca’s look but I just can’t.

    Izabel looks perfect!!!

  11. Nat39 May 25, 2013 at 00:30 #

I’m trying to decide who is my less least favorite of the bunch.

I might have gone a bit crazy, but I actually like Eugenia Silva’s Dolce and Gabbana – it’s so Sicilian OTT crazy, but actually quite beautiful too!

  13. Ramsay May 25, 2013 at 00:08 #

Bianca’s dress is Chanel Couture – look #52 of fall 2011 collection

  14. Moxie May 24, 2013 at 22:05 #

Not wowed by any of them.

    • MissCru May 24, 2013 at 22:46 #

      100% agree

  15. EmmaWoodhouse May 24, 2013 at 21:59 #

Karlie is actually the only one I like here. The flapper vibe works with her hair. Everyone else looks tacky, messy, or insane.

  16. Prudence May 24, 2013 at 21:54 #

everything on this page is a disaster, Bianca being the biggest one

  17. noo May 24, 2013 at 21:20 #

I am in love with Bianca’s look!

  18. kane May 24, 2013 at 21:19 #

    I kinda like Karlie’s look.

Izabel gets a pass as well, although this is playing it so dead safe, it actually shouldn’t be rewarded.

I can see your points about Izabeli’s look, FC. It really shouldn’t look as if it was THAT windy on the red carpet–even if it was. Way too much fabric was used here. But right after being so unimpressed with Marion’s white look, I already find at least the idea of this all white jumpsuit refreshing despite its execution.

  19. Noemi May 24, 2013 at 21:03 #

What the hell was Bianca Balti thinking when seh chose the dress? Was she drunk? To me, it would be a WDOTY contender! Not impressed by the others.

  20. Rebecca Z May 24, 2013 at 21:00 #

I love Karlie’s dress but her shoes are way too heavy for the spaghetti strapped dress with feathered hem.

  21. MR May 24, 2013 at 20:50 #

bianca is wearing Chanel couture fw11

    • Catherine Kallon May 25, 2013 at 11:20 #

      thank you x

  22. Yeliz May 24, 2013 at 20:49 #

Izabel is clearly the best here. She totally works that thigh-high slit and her styling is impeccable.

    • Saosao May 24, 2013 at 20:59 #

    • The Cherry Tree May 24, 2013 at 21:16 #

Agreed. I just find that the shoes don’t complement the dress well. Maybe red or silver peep-toed heels would’ve been better?

      • Yeliz May 24, 2013 at 21:55 #

You’re right. I think silver sandals would’ve been great, but the ones she has on don’t bother me that much.

    • dee May 24, 2013 at 21:28 #

      I agree.

    • Marybeth May 24, 2013 at 21:46 #

      Also agree.
Cherry Tree is right that a better pair of shoes might have been found, but it’s still a great look.

      • Christine May 25, 2013 at 03:04 #

I agree. She is working it. The rest is blah.
