The CW Network’s New York 2013 Upfront Presentation

The CW Network's New York 2013 Upfront Presentation

A bevy of bright young things made quite an entrance at The CW Network’s New York 2013 Upfront Presentation, hosted at The London Hotel yesterday in New York City. Among the hot list, there are starlets from ‘The Carrie Diaries’ to ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and every TV show in between—and they certainly didn’t keep their sartorial sass under lock and key.

Jaime King: The ‘Hart of Dixie’ star flaunted a bold swish of brushstrokes (and her baby bump) in a Peter Pilotto Fall 2013 satin frock, worn with a Rachel Zoe statement cuff and thick strappy Etro shoes. With its abstract expressionist mood, this was nearly like a Mark Rothko painting put onto a dress. Casual blonde waves and a sweep of sky-blue eye liner completed the artistic look.

Aimee Teegarden: The ‘Star-Crossed’ actress must have gotten the art memo, too, as her romper was a study in watercolour prints. The rush of swirling hues was exhilarating; so too was the pop of neon-blue from the pumps and her coral lippie. I just wish her ‘do had carried the same exuberance, as it seemed to fall flat.

Nina Dobrev: Our favourite TV vamp was obviously still channeling a touch of punk attitude from last week’s Met Gala. The newly single star turned up the volume in a blue body-con dress by Versace that featured a punch of black leather, grommets and metal. Shiny platinum Rupert Sanderson ‘Elba’ heels added a final flourish.

AnnaSophia Robb: The young Carrie Bradshaw gave us a peek (literally) of her big-city style with this Katie Ermilio design that featured no fewer than three of the hottest trends of late: stripes, mismatched patterns and midriff cutouts. With so much happening in her dress, she kept the rest of the styling straightforward with minimal accessories, including a pair of Sorellina butterfly earrings and metallic Casadei pumps. Side-swept pin curls sent this look straight to the ’50s while lavender eye shadow added a youthful, fun edge.

With such a variety of styles, who was your top-dressed starlet of the four?

I just adore AnnaSophia’s dress. She looks youthful and fun, but still mature and elegant. She might not be the next style icon, but she always looks really good lately. I also appreciate her shorter haircut and lovely tan.

      Totally agree.

AnnaSophia, all the way. Pretty and poised and fresh. With all the details on the dress, it could have easily overwhelmed her but she pulls it off beautifully. Everything here works for me – the hair and makeup, the dress, the glowing tan. Great look.

+1 she looks so fresh despite having so much color splashed all around her, and carries the tricky dress so well

          +2

I agree. While I like all of the looks, Aimee & AnnaSophia are my faves

Aimee easily for me as well.
not getting the excitement about AnnaSophia, it’s one tacky look.

Love all but my favorites are Jaimie and Aimee. So gorgeous. Love the prints on both dresses.

  6. Chloe May 17, 2013 at 13:48 #

Jaimie and AnnaSophia are my faves. Jamie looks really cool and comfortable for being preg…so happy that Peter Pilotto dress was worn! And AnnaSophia looks totally different and grown up… and much more polished than usual. So glam. Katie Ermilio looks so good on red carpet!

Best upfront so far! They all look amazing!

  8. Pri May 17, 2013 at 14:48 #

Damn, these CW girls are all so skinny!

    • fefe May 17, 2013 at 18:14 #

Yes they all are and noticeably Anna Sophia has lost a lot of weight

  9. Moxie May 17, 2013 at 14:56 #

Nina and AnnaSophia are my favorites.

I adore that romper-shoe combo, but I agree about the hair.

Jaime’s look is too clownish for me. I would have loved Aimee’s as a dress, the print is beautiful but I don’t love the romper. Nina is my favorite–she looks great and what a divine color (nitpick: the puckering seams). AnnaSophia’s revealing look is not to my taste–put a real bodice on it and I’d be sold, as I like her styling.

Annasophia all the way! BDOTW! Really chic for her age. managing to look more polished and fun whereas other girls her age look too messy (chloe moretz) or trying to0 hard (elle fanning).

Honestly I get a try-hard vibe from AnnaSophie. It feels like just because she’s playing a iconic role like Carrie, she’s also trying so hard to become a fashionista off camera. and most of the times it isn’t working, her dress would be fine without the huge hole in the middle.

Why does Nina Dobrev always STAND LIKE THAT??? Her feet are always facing a different way than her body. She probably thinks that pose makes her look thinner.

AnnaSophia all the way! She looks amazing!!

  16. Jess2 May 18, 2013 at 10:39 #

I really like AnnaSophia’s very chic look, and as always Nina looks good also.
