Fan Bingbing In Elie Saab Couture – ‘The Bling Ring’ Party

Fan Bingbing In Elie Saab Couture - ‘The Bling Ring’ Party

It looks like it’s going to be the Elie Saab Fan Bingbing show during Cannes Film Festival; the actress wore her third look by the Lebanese designer to ‘The Bling Ring’ party hosted by Louis Vuitton yesterday evening.

After attending the ‘Jeune & Jolie’ premiere wearing a couture gown from the Spring 2012 collection earlier in the evening, she made a quick change into this gorgeous lacy confection from the Fall 2012 Couture collection.

Opting for another braided updo, the actress styled her look with Chopard jewels and the same Louis Vuitton minaudière she carried on Day 1 of the festival.

Is Fan Bingbing wearing Elie Saab for every occasion becoming too predictable and stale or do you love this winning combo?

It’s becoming all too predictable. One note. She lost her quirky, unpredictable spark?

Although the gowns from Elie Saab are undeibaly beautiful but on they all look like the same deja vu dress after another.

Her Cannes run so far is not as impressive like before.

    We’ll see.

      +1 I’m over it.

Plus, this particular dress is too sheer and the neck and sleeves are OTT

+1 Actually I’ve never been a fan of Fan’s style ;) She always ruins the look with something, like here with the watch. I don’t know why but she never sells what she’s wearing to me.

      • DSI May 17, 2013 at 14:22 #

+1 looks like she is no longer Fashion’s It girl, sadly!

Beautiful but I’m also among the ones who are tired of embellished lace. And this one, despite the sheer skirt, looks like a mourning victorian dress.

it really doesn’t bother me because she wears the hell out of Elie Saab. It’s just like how Keira Knightley usually wears chanel or valentino but she always looks impeccable. They were born to wear those designers.

Also, I don’t really like her quirky style, so Fan + Elie Saab works for me.

    • Rosanna May 17, 2013 at 22:54 #

+2 I’m always delighted to see Fan in Elie Saab.

+4! I love this combo. I think Fan wears Elie Saab so well and I will never get sick of seeing an Elie Saab gown!

Unlike many other collabs like Dior x JLaw/ Marion
this one ALWAYS works. So no, I hope this never ends because I will never tire of it. if it aint broken….

She was born to wear Elie Saab.
Fan + Elie Saab = perfect on the red carpet.

Predictable. I find Zhang Ziyi’s style to be much more interesting for example

    • Mick May 17, 2013 at 14:18 #

I don’t like this dress to begin with. That being said, yes, I find her undeniably elegant and regal, but her style is kind of predictable.
She always favors those Elie Saab gowns, which are great, but all look the same. Then when she brings out the quirk factor, seems ridiculous or try-hard. So yes, maybe Z.Z.’s style is more interesting.

    • Noemi May 17, 2013 at 15:44 #

I agree, also, she has always the same face, which is starting to bother me. I prefer Zang Ziyi, definitely.

This one is particularly different and gorgeous, but still I really wish her to change things a bit.

Am waiting for her look on the day she gets awarded the International Artist of the Year. My guess, she will go the tradition route that day ;)

PS: On second note, I wish the neck wasnt so covered and can anyone say what is she holding in her hand??

  6. MatBer May 17, 2013 at 14:16 #

Two years ago it was “too predictable”, now it is just boring.

      Hahahah
      So true.

  7. fromchi-town May 17, 2013 at 14:19 #

It got boring like a year ago. Its like she knows people dig it when she wears Elie Saab’s gowns and thats all she wears.

  8. nicole May 17, 2013 at 14:20 #

    shes still the best !!!!!

  9. TL May 17, 2013 at 14:24 #

Tired of seeing her wearing Elie Saab.

    • TL May 17, 2013 at 14:28 #

How many Elie Saab dresses does she decide to wear for Cannes?

      • Rashmi May 17, 2013 at 14:36 #

        Its 4 in 2 days :O and still counting :D :D

  10. Moxie May 17, 2013 at 14:53 #

She looks great in Elie Saab, but I’m not a fan of this dress. He has a lot of different looks, I’m tired of the same old embellished ones in different colors.

  11. dee May 17, 2013 at 14:56 #

I don’t mind her wearinf Elie Saab as long as the dresses look different. This one looks differnt to me and I really like this look.

  12. tomi May 17, 2013 at 14:57 #

FC.have you seen the back?that’s stunning

Personally I’m jealous and would love to be her for a day. Elie Saab and LV day after day, come on? She gets to wear the BEST stuff! But I am getting a little sleepy with so much Elie Saab (I know sacrilege). Her ability to WOW us each and every time almost like a dress up doll has been my favorite part waiting to see what she would wear. Nobody wears Elie Saab like her, she just needs to change it up a little.

  15. EmmaWoodhouse May 17, 2013 at 15:50 #

I am not so much a fan of Fan’s (lol @ bad pun) quirky style–I live and breathe to see her in Elie Saab. So no, the collaboration is FAR from tired in my eyes–it’s perfect.
This look is not to my taste, however–very unusually. There is too much going on and I really dislike how sheer it is. I like her clutch, but next time I hope she picks a different ES dress.

  16. Nat May 17, 2013 at 16:51 #

    Not impressed at all.

  17. Yeliz May 17, 2013 at 17:07 #

I don’t mind Fan wearing Elie Saab, it’s a winning combination IMO, but I don’t really love this look. Actually, I don’t really love this gown.

  18. Chiliam May 17, 2013 at 17:16 #

The dress is boring but hair and make up is just flawless.

  19. Tati M May 17, 2013 at 18:15 #

    TOO PREDICTABLE!

  20. Loveit May 17, 2013 at 19:15 #

The dress is so beautiful and delicate.

  21. Regina May 17, 2013 at 20:11 #

I was already over it last year.

Are you kidding me? Predictable? She is definteky NOT predictable! She knows a great designer and sticks to his classy, sexy, and elegant gowns and dresses, just like others stick to one designer or other! She looks SPECTACULAR in every Elie Saab gown or dress!
