‘The Great Gatsby’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Menswear Round Up

‘The Great Gatsby’ Cannes Film Festival Menswear Round Up

After an opening weekend of over $50 million, the stars of ‘The Great Gatsby’ were in attendance for the film’s premiere at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival in France on Wednesday evening.

Tobey Maguire: The right fit makes all the difference between a great suit and an impeccable one. In a Saint Laurent black suit, Tobey looks incredibly dapper. The pants fit the way they should and the jacket sleeves are just short enough to show off some shirt cuff, giving him a cleaner look than Leo.

Leonardo DiCaprio: Looking very Gatsby-esque, Leonardo wore a black three-piece tuxedo with black satin linings. He looked good as usual, adding a white shirt, black bow tie, and signature slicked-back hair. If his pants were an inch or two shorter it would have been perfect.

Joel Edgerton: Like a true movie star, Joel arrived in a well-cut Ferragamo black three-piece tux with satin peak lapels. He finished it off with a white shirt, a black bow tie, and David Yurman cufflinks. Difficult to decide between Joel and Tobey.

In the end, my best dressed went to Joel because of the details, like the black button on the jacket and the lined pockets. I also preferred Joel’s shoes to Tobey’s.
