JW Anderson for Versus by Versace Collection Launch Party

JW Anderson for Versus by Versace Collection Launch Party

Donatella Versace hosted an event at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City on Wednesday evening to celebrate the launch of the JW Anderson for Versus by Versace collection.

Heidi Klum: The ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge wore a lace-accented LBD from the Versace Spring 2013 collection with black pumps. My issue is not the revealing nature of her dress or her pumps, but her ghostly makeup.

Taylor Momsen: Perhaps Heidi was taking makeup tips from Taylor Momsen, who took to the red carpet sporting a paler complexion than usual with her trademark racoon eyes. I haven’t been a fan of Taylor’s style since she morphed into her ‘Gossip Girl’ character Jenny, but I have to say I love this harlequin Versace suit. Sometimes she takes the grunge too far, but this more polished look I can get on board with.

Hayden Panettiere: With most going for all-black, hard-edged looks, Hayden opted for a beige-coloured flirty frock from the Versace Spring 2013 collection, which she styled with nude pumps and a clutch which matched her dress.

Paloma Faith: Still sporting that sculptural updo from the Met Gala, my favourite gal wore a printed Versus top paired with a black pleated Versace skirt and black-and-white triple-platform pumps. She finished her look with gold Versace jewelry and a small black signature Versace handbag.

Mia Moretti: This was one of my favourite looks. Mia wore a full Versus look, pairing a Versus printed multi-coloured silk blouse with a contrasting print bomber jacket and pleated skirt. I would love to master mixing prints like this. Mia’s safety pin accessories included black Versus booties and a black Versus bag. Gold hooped earring and red lippie completed her look.

Mena Suvari: This is more like it. Mena worked a rocker look which wouldn’t look out of place in the movie ‘Grease’ as she donned a cropped black leather Versus jacket with safety-pin detail, black Versus jeans and a knit Versace top, accessorizing with black Versace shoes, a black Versus safety-pin-accented clutch which I am obsessed with, and gold hooped earrings. A bouffant updo completed her look.

Jaime King: I was surprised that Jaime was wearing a full Versus look because at first glance it looks like something one would wear to an office. On closer inspection the Versus traits are there with the safety-pin-accented skirt and ankle boots; however, I wish she’d ditched the blazer to prevent her looking so formal.

Hannah Simone: The ‘New Girl’ actress wore a long-sleeved black dress with leather inserts enriched with gold studs from the Versace Pre-Fall 2013 collection. She completed her look with formal black Versace shoes, which I wish had been a sexier sandal.

Melissa George: Went one step further than Diane Kruger’s crop top earlier this week by wearing a bra top with her black Versace leather jacket with black Versace pants. I think she works the look well, even with her belly button on display. She completed the look with a black-and-gold Versus watch and black pumps.

Darren Criss: The ‘Glee’ actor wore a black-and-white printed Versus shirt paired with a black Versus bomber jacket, Versace Collection jeans, black Versace shoes, and a black-and-silver Versus watch. I love how he nerded up the look with geek-chic glasses.

Joe Jonas: The singer opted for slightly more colour, wearing a Versus bomber jacket with multi-coloured plaid printed sleeves with a black Versus T shirt, black Versus jeans and black-and-white Versace sneakers.

Cameron Silver: The ‘Duke of Melrose’ star, menswear mogul and owner of Decades in Los Angeles was decked out in a Versace Fall 2012 leather studded jacket with a printed shirt and white pants. Adding more bedazzlement to his look he selected gold studded Louboutins.

Taylor and Mia are my favourite looks from the girls, and Darren’s on-trend black-and-white look is my favourite from the fellas as I have never been a fan of logo tees.
