Vera Farmiga In Valentino - ‘Bates Motel Reimagining A Cinema Icon’ The Paley Center for Media Presentation

Vera Farmiga joined Nicola Peltz in attending The Paley Center for Media presents ‘Bates Motel: Reimagining A Cinema Icon’ at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, California on Friday evening.

The actress wore a Valentino Resort 2013 look, which featured a long-sleeved black lace shirt with white contrasting collar & cuffs, which she paired with a black pencil skirt.

Vera added a black patent belt, a black clutch and nude pumps to her look, keeping the makeup simple with side-swept bangs and a neat bun completing her look.

I have a feeling that the overall look ages Vera somewhat. I really want to love the look, but something is preventing me. It might be the pumps or that belt.

    Firstly, the androgynous-cool in the official look is no longer present in the way she’s matched her outfit;

    the pencil skirt isn’t FATAL, because it does provide for a good silhouette, which is especially important for a more mature woman, but that open collar on Farmiga is far too 80s power-dressing than minimalistic (Which is, the updated way of powerdressing). Also that patent belt also doesn’t help. Let the items speak for it’s own silhouette, unless it’s not got any.

    Opting for a more structural/distinctive shoe might’ve also helped to play up the look. Do you agree?

      80s power-dressing? YES, I wholeheartedly agree

    I think its her hair and her pose. Reinforces the school-marminess of the collar and cuffs.

    This looks like a secretary’s outfit from a clearance rack. Also not liking her blonde hair.

        True. Dull look and very mumsy.
