Best Dressed Of The Week, Blog
Nina Dobrev in Monique Lhuillier, because Sienna couldn’t make it to this poll. Runners-up are Kerry Washington in Prabal Gurung and Olga Kurylenko in Christian Dior.
My best dressed man is Chris Pine in Ralph Lauren and runner-up Pharrell Williams in Lanvin.
Have a relaxed weekend, FC!
I plan too…Cannes starts on Wed x
Have a good one
Easy choice for the ladies for me – Olga Kurylenko.
In menswear loved Luke Evans and Chris Pine the most. Voting for Luke Evans but will be happy if Chris wins too.
Scratch that. Chris wins – utter perfection, superb, and so intensely dashing, this is his best yet. Luke – runner-up (loved the burgundy accents and how well put-together he looked).
I keep going back and forth, lol at myself… Luke is just so flawless, every single detail is right, and he is showing just the right amount of shirt cuff under his suit sleeves, plus his look is a bit more unusual and that original pocket square is such a delightful touch. I’m really torn here.
lol I was like you. I went with Chris first but then I felt bad because Luke killed it as well.
I just ended up voting for both of them #noregrets
Ladies: it’s between Nina, Zoe and Kerry. The looks couldn’t be more different but I love them all.
Gentlemen: Yeessss! I’m finally voting for Chris Pine lol. I was waiting for him to blow me away during his promo tour and it happened. Luke Evans is a close second, he looked amazing and original.
FC I don’t understand why if Amber Heard, Cameron Diaz & Jennifer Lopez were your best dressed at the MET Gala none of them are in the BDOTW?
this is because the readers didn’t rate them.
This is a readers poll and reflects the readers preferences. My favourites don’t have to be on this poll.
Between Chris and Eddie I picked Chris because I don’t like how Eddie is posing. Once or twice is ok, but he pose like that all the time it sort of brings the look down a little in my opinion.
As for the ladies, i’m voting for Olga!
Nina Dobrev all the way.
It’s such a hard decision this week!
For the ladies, I love Nina & Anne’s looks equally- I can’t choose. For the men, I’d have to go w/ Chris Pine although Eddie Redmayne is right up there too
Eddie Redmayne really knows what to wear and how to wear it! He is a great model and an AMAZING actor (catch him up in Les Mis and My week with Marilyn or The Pillars of the Earth)
Olga. Her look is even BDOTY worthy imo.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say BDOTY but Olga is definitely the winner for me this week. I wonder if people were just distracted by the fact that Nina was overlooked in the MET gala poll….
First week that I can remember that none of my favorites made the BDOTW poll. Anne was the highest on my list that made it, so I voted for her.
For the men, Chris Pine is looking delicious this week.
Ooooo good to see Nina on here! Because I was curious as to how she’d hold up to Anne, and seeing as to me she was a very close second, this is pretty much on point, at this moment they are tied! You go girls! I voted Anne cuz her sassiness is just overpowering this picture! And Im never with you ladies when it comes to menswear, but hey never claimed to know much about menswear anyway, I went tom cruise, I think it was those glasses ehehe
I’m very surprised to see that so few looks from the MET Gala made their way to this week’s poll. I’m equally surprised to see SJP here.
My vote went to Anne Hathaway. She really knocked out of the park with the blond ‘do.
Paul Walker was my best dressed on the men’s poll.
Met Gala had its own poll. Only the top vote getters in that poll show up in the BDOTW poll.
And that’s why I love you FC.
I’m voting for Nina Dobrev with a very VERY close second Olga Kurylenko. For me, Nina just nailed the theme and had fun with it. The third favourite would be SJP for that headpiece.
In the men’s poll I went for Luke Evans.
Nina Dobrev and Tom Cruise
Considering the Met Gala was on Monday, the choices of looks up for BDOTW is rather underwhelming. Going with SJP,though.
How come Nina Dobrev wasn’t featured in the MET Gala poll but is featured here ? And she’s winning the poll too.
I don’t know if this was the rationale or not, but often when Nina is on a poll fans come and vote in droves just because it’s her. While many readers liked the look, FC might have wanted other looks (SJP, Anne Hathaway, etc.) to be given more of a “fair shot,” and then added Nina’s look to the BDOTW poll (where it’s winning, but not exorbitantly–maybe there’s less likelihood of fansites linking to it?) because many readers DID like the look. Just my thoughts.
I like the way this overall list looks (someone is bound to say they hate it or that it is boring!) – each look seems very clarified and either emphasizing the wearer’s personality or very event appropriate. My top three are Diane, Kerry and Giovanna, but I like all three Met looks too. Bring on Cannes! I know FC’s coverage will be mouthwatering as always……
FC, I know you get crap from everyone saying, “Why didn’t you pick so and so for BDOTW?” I definitely am not trying to do that. But,I thought Nina Dobrev was missing from the MET Gala poll. Of all my favorites of the night she stood out the most. I’m so glad you added her for BDOTW. I’m not usually on her bandwagon as much as others, but on this occasion I think she was perfection.
For ladies, Anne Hathaway and Olga Kurylenko are my favorites.
For the men, no doubt either Eddie Redmayne or Chris Pine will win the poll, but Paul Walker and Tom Cruise look handsome and great, and they win in my mind.
The vampire diaries sure has many devoted fans who will vote for nina no matter what she wears
She might have a lot of fans, but this is not the main reason why she’s winning the poll. She’s winning because she deserves it. There’s no way to deny that she was one of the best dressed of the week.
Olga Kurylenko and Kerry Washington.
Chris Pine and Paul Walker.
MY vote go to Olga and Pharell.
where’s benedict cumberbatch in men?
Gotta say, the men really brought it this week. Love the music men, Pharrell and Frank, hipster fine. Enjoyed Zachary’s take on punk. Luke Evans’ tailor is a genius. Tom Cruise still has “it” in that three piece. Eddie is even leering (slightly) less. But my vote goes to Chris Pine. Good heavens, who knew a man sporting a beard and a pin-striped suit could look so hormone-blowingly good?
Thanks for the coverage to FC and the rest of the team guys.
P.S Did you see Kerry Washington’s Elle cover which she tweeted about last month? Hope she gets a Vogue cover soon.
Not yet, I will go look it up
Nina is such a fave here, and one I just can’t seem to get on with.
My favorites were Anne (whom I voted for), Olga and Diane. This is really the first time I feel thoroughly wowed by Anne in a really long time.
Chris Pine for the men.
Anne Hathaway and Zoe Saldana.Tom Brady and Chris Pine.
So much to look forward to this week
Kidman, Blanchett, Swinton, etc.
Nina Dobrev! this girl is perfection from head to toe
I loved Nina! (I don’t watch Vampire Diairies either) Nina, SJP, Cara D. and Anja were my faves at the Met Gala. I will see it was really hard not to vote for Zoe she looks white hot and she’s having an amazing promo run!
Fingers crossed for an amazing Cannes Festival!
Seriously – lately Nina Dobrev can do NO wrong. The girl is a machine!!! Love that she’s repping us Canadian girls.
It was a toss up for me between Olga’s stunning look and Nina Dobrev’s fine effort to channel the punk theme. I finally voted for Olga’s elegance.
With the men it was a toss up too, between Chris Pine and Frank Ocean. I decided on Frank. I’m still charmed by those studded shoes— so subtle, so cool.
Though I liked the concept and drama of SJP’s look, I did not like the high slit and tartan velvet boots. The other two Met ladies (Nina and Anne) were among my least favorites of the night. From the rest of the candidates, my vote is split between Olga and Diane, who are both divinely elegant. Giovanna is also worthy of note. Jordana’s was ill-fitted and flat, Kerry’s neckline was too low (though I liked the rest of it) and Zoe’s sheer shirt and exposed bra were downright tacky.
For the men, Eddie Redmayne wins, followed by Luke Evans. Others looked good too, though I didn’t like the “waiter-like” looks as sported by Tom Brady and Armie Hammer. Likewise, I was not really fond of Zachary’s look.
I am SO excited for Cannes I can barely breathe! Best time of the fashion year!
