Michelle Williams In Saint Laurent – 2013 Met Gala

Michelle Williams Saint Laurent - 2013 Met Gala

Michelle Williams attempted to vamp up her style for the punk themed 2013 Met Gala on Monday evening in New York City.

I say attempt because even with the vampy makeup and punk rock hairdo, I still see sweet innocent Michelle underneath.

Keeping to her trademark classic style, she donned a black strapless Saint Laurent gown with a high-low hemline, with black T-strap Saint Laurent pumps giving the look a ladylike finish.

Fred Leighton jewels, which included a diamond tiara, and an Olympia Le-Tan book clutch for a quirky finish completed her look.

Should Michelle have pushed the punk element further? A pair of studded cuffs or studded Giuseppe Zanotti pumps perhaps?

Studded pumps would have been great, but I like this look nonetheless. She doesn’t stand out, but looks beautiful.

With her hair cut, I wished she would’ve went there with the punk theme. Not feeling this dull look.

      I agree.

With some studded shoes this could be perfect. Studded Pigalle, for example, would have been great but so far, she’s one of my favorite.

hate shoes. headband immature. nothing going on here, funk bejeweled belt wouldve been nice

This looks like that time when she tried to make wearing H&M to big red carpet events during awards season cool. But it is just her wearing some $10,000 custom Saint Laurent and I was like 90% sure is was her trying to make wearing H&M Eco-dress-crap-collection to the Met Ball cool.

Whilst I appreciate her signature style, here she had an opportunity to nod to the theme without compromising that style. She just dialled this in.

I don’t like the shoes or dress on Michelle and she isn’t selling it to me.

Hehe, I smiled when I saw her looking still cute while trying to be fierce in the first pic :)

you know i’m so disappointed! some of my favourite people have been a disappointment at the Met! she could have really gone a long long way!

    Boring look

Her hair and make up was the best but the dress was too safe.

Snooze fest. And not remotely on theme.

I like her hair and makeup (though she should have smoothed out the bump on the right side of her head), but the dress is BEYOND boring. It reminds me of the recent boring Dior collection. I feel like this is SUCH deja vu and SO underwhelming. Not liking it at all.

she couldn’t be more boring if she tried. I know Michelle favors simple shapes and neutral colors but hellooo! this is the Met Ball. This dress would have been okay for a photocall, not even for a premiere

Ugh! This could have been so much better.

I think she’s was one of the worst dressed if not the worst at this event. This looks childlike, boring, and I hate the shoes. Not a good look.

  19. Parvati May 8, 2013 at 01:21 #

The dress is boring, but I love the way she’s been styling her hair lately – it’s sexy and it looks so good on her!

Cute. Classic. Playful. Simple. A bit predictable and too conservative for the event. I love the book clutch, but we’ve seen it before. She looks good, but couldve brought more drama.
