Kate Mara In Delpozo by Josep Font – 2013 Met Gala

Kate Mara In Delpozo by Josep Font - 2013 Met Gala

Kate Mara joined her sister Rooney Mara on the red carpet this evening in New York City for the 2013 Met Gala.

The actress selected a Delpozo by Josep Font dress which was created especially for the event.

Her burgundy dress, with a heart-shaped neckline featuring architectural modules, does shout ‘punk’, but the styling keeps the look very demure.

Kate’s signature bun and black strappy sandals completed her look.

Should Kate have made an effort to punk out her accessories, or does the dress speak for itself?

She definitely could have spiced things up more when it comes to the accessories.
It wouldn’t change the fact that the bodice is incredibly unflattering though. It flattens her chest. Maybe it’s sitting too low, idk.

I don’t find this look particularly flattering. However I love the colour.

Did she think she was going to a high school dance? Talk about underdressed. The burgundy color is the only thing I like about this. Normally I love Kate’s girly-casual, Olivia-Palermo-ish style but this is boring as well as unflattering.

This is awfully unflattering, she looks wide and short-waisted, and the bodice is sitting way too low, the styling is uninspiring, def. thumbs down.

      Amen to this. Very unflattering.

This is unflattering and frankly ugly. It looks like some of Lena Dunham’s unfortunate choices. It’s sitting too low, it’s too shortwaisted–all the proportions are off and it’s…BROWN. her styling is so quiet that it didn’t elevate the look.

I think the dress is beautiful and I actually find the cut interesting, but agree that it’s way too casual for this venue. Maybe if it were long instead of cocktail length it would have been better? The shoes could have spiced it up, but they are super boring. Apparently she missed the memo that it’s THE MET.

just because you put spikes on it doesnt make it edgy and cool. plus this looks like it was made for a petite person, its not hitting at the waist right

I dont quite love this look, but I am so happy that Josep Font’s designs are feautured, because he’s a genius!!

Not flattering at all. The skirt is sitting much too high and making her look incredibly short waisted.
