Kate Bosworth In Balmain – Moda Operandi’s ‘A Midnight Supper’ Event

Kate Bosworth In Balmain - Moda Operandi’s ‘A Midnight Supper’ Event

Kate Bosworth posed alongside Prabal Gurung at the Regis Hotel in New York City on Saturday at the celebrated Moda Operandi’s ‘A Midnight Supper’ event, which launched the retailer’s exclusive ‘Punk Collection’.

Giving us our fourth Balmain look in a week, the actress wore a look from the Fall 2013 collection.

Toning down the runway look somewhat, Kate wore a black leather top with a green iridescent tulip-shaped skirt, which she styled with black pumps and a Balmain leather clutch.

Zoe Saldana wore a similar look from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection last week which didn’t go down too well with the majority of you, so how does this look fare?

Kate, the ‘style maven’, is totally overwhelmed by those padded shoulders, which frankly ruin the majority of this collection.

She could’ve countered that by simply putting her hair up, but my guess is she was trying to disguise those quarterback shoulders.

Not a great look for the usually impeccable star.

Like Zoe Saldana look, this one is awful.
The fabric of this collection looks cheap. This dress makes her look much wider than she is.

      I agree.

I totally agree. This collection seems doomed if not even Zoe or Kate can pull off a look.

Her hair and makeup is flawless, but that’s it. I just can’t like this collection.

I like the skirt’s color and sheen but it’s too short and unflattering once again. The top is ugly. Balmain has looked cheap lately.

Looks like a shiny green diaper.

I love it! She wears it better than the model.

The skirt is cute and I like the color but the top is ugly (there’s no other way to describe it. It’s hard to pull off this collection and I think she looks quite good, at the end of the day.

    No.

She is not working this look. Love her makeup though

I like the skirt and that’s it.
You just can’t let your hair down when you’re wearing a turtleneck.

Zoe rocked that Balmain if you ask me, loved it, it was a fierce standout look from her, and Kate is totally selling this one to me. I like how she toned down the boldness with her pretty feminine styling. She doesn’t look overwhelmed to me, she looks sexy, daring and pretty.

…the high turtleneck-padded shoulders are a bit too much, yes, but I think overall she is working this look charmingly.
Zoe’s Balmain was actually my fave look from her, it was bold and memorable, she pulled it off amazingly well, and at the end of the week it was the one I remembered the most.

forgot to add…I think it was actually the right choice to leave her hair down on this occasion – her soft pretty waves really soften the shoulder line, it would’ve been way to severe otherwise.

Now that i’m done w that i love this look, i just wish it was on someone else , or with her hair up in a loose top knot

Balmain has become one of those labels whose collections have become so repetitive and predictable. It’s always 80′s related with big shoulders.
