Dolce & Gabbana’s 5th Avenue Boutique Opening

Dolce & Gabbana's 5th Avenue Boutique Opening

The Dolce & Gabbana 5th Avenue Boutique Opening took place on Saturday evening in New York City, where Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana enjoyed a night of traditional Italian hospitality and mingled around the space of the new store, which spans three floors.

Giovanna Battaglia: The fashion editor stood out wearing a stunning red satin fit-and-flare dress with a lace overlay, which she styled with red embellished shoes. She was by far my favourite of the night. I love how she captures the essence of a brand without the theatrics.

Paloma Faith: Speaking of theatrics, the British singer went all out in a full Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 look, with the only solid piece of her look being her belt. I do love the fact that she’s not afraid of colour, prints and standing out in a room of black lace dresses. This Dolce & Gabbana look featuring a ‘Trio’ of Knight’ dress might not go down too well, but I love her boldness. You may remember that Zhang Zilin wore this same dress earlier this year.

Bianca Brandolini D’Adda: We usually associate Dolce & Gabbana with black lace dresses, but Giovanna and Bianca embraced red lace on this occasion. The socialite donned a bell-sleeved mini dress with a black overlay, styling her look with a black Dolce & Gabbana ponyskin clutch and red embellished sandals.

Chloe Sevigny: Shunning the lace dresses and the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 collection, the actress opted for an all-tweed look which included an ultra-mini dress and oversized coat from their Fall 2013 collection.

Zhang Ziyi: I was a tad disappointed by Zhang Ziyi on this occasion. Usually one to make dramatic style statements, she somewhat blends into the background on this occasion. If only she took cues from her fellow Asian star Fan Bingbing, whose ‘Coming To America’ Oscar night trio of looks ensured she was noticed.

Emilia Clarke: Dressed in all black, the only part of Emilia’s look I can focus on is her eye makeup. Less is more.

Erin Heatherton: The model selected a bold printed Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 frock, which she styled with a coral clutch and ivory sandals. This look is a lot of fun and perfect for the season; however, I’m not fond of the lip colour, which is in total contrast to her look with its autumnal hue.

Gisele Bundchen: The supermodel, who I am expecting big things from at tonight’s Met Gala, kept it simple and chic, wearing a classic white Dolce & Gabbana dress with a white blazer, green python clutch and black strappy sandals. Classic or boring?

Constance Jablonski: The model donned one of the black-and-white striped pieces from the Spring 2013 collection, adding a pop of colour to her look via her Dolce & Gabbana orange clutch. You may remember that Olivia Wilde wore this same dress earlier this year.
