Isla Fisher In Dolce & Gabbana – ‘The Great Gatsby’ World Premiere

Isla Fisher In Dolce & Gabbana - ‘The Great Gatsby’ World Premiere

It sure was a packed night on the red carpet, with one of the stars of the movie, Isla Fisher, taking her spot on the red carpet at Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City on Wednesday evening alongside Carey Mulligan, Florence Welch and Nina Dobrev for ‘The Great Gatsby’ world premiere.

Sporting a lighter strawberry-blonde ‘do, the Australian actress looked regal wearing a Dolce & Gabbana gown.

If you look closely you can see that the gown is formed in two parts: a sheer navy floral-print top and a black lace skirt with a short underlay and floral appliqués.

It seems like a strange choice. Why not all navy and sheer or all black lace? However, I feel like the contrasting fabrics allow this gown to stand out from the 100s of Dolce & Gabbana black-lace gowns we have seen grace the red carpet on many occasions.

A black Roger Vivier clutch, Fred Leighton jewels and Dolce & Gabbana heels completed her look.
Does this hybrid Dolce gown get a thumbs up from you?

It’s not navy and black. It’s all black 1 piece.

FC never said it was navy, that was a ‘thought’ she was writing :)

Actually, FC did say the top (floral part) was navy and the bottom (lace part) was black. Which is how it appears on my monitor. FC was thinking it should either be all black or all navy. And I agree.

Love her hair and make-up. The dress, not so much.

I think the gown is beautiful. For some reason, I really like it. And I love her hair and makeup.

I think its BDOTW worthy. She looks exquisite! Love everything.

I love this dress! The difference isn’t noticed in the first pic, so I was surprised to read about the overlay skirt!
Now, I like the more :) Her makeup is perfect as always.

I like it from head to neck, the dress is ugly and I expected something more from her. The movie was so awaited, all the costumes and jewelry are a joy for the yes, and the premiere’s outfit are quite meh.

+1. Really really really disliking D&G, it’s increasingly rare that I find a Dolce look appealing.

I love the top half. Her makeup and hair are really beautiful.

I think she is really gorgeous! I’ve never seen her so beautfull! Love the dress on her! The hair color is better too!

I don’t like the mix of black and navy.

Her hair and makeup are very sweet and pretty, the rest (the floral print, the lace..) is plain frumpy, she looks completely overwhelmed, thumbs down from me.

I quite like it. I dunno, I just think she pulls it off.
I mean, recently, I’ve been growing tired of lace, but she managed to make it work; and to me this looks fresh and interesting.
Also, today I’m more envious of her hair than ever.

Waist up lovely. The rest is a horrid mess.
