Florence Welch In Miu Miu – ‘The Great Gatsby’ World Premiere

Florence Welch In Miu Miu - ‘The Great Gatsby’ New York Premiere

Florence Welch joined Carey Mulligan on the red carpet on Wednesday night for ‘The Great Gatsby’ world premiere held at Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

After wearing Prada on Tuesday evening, she selected Miu Miu on this occasion.

Her navy silk-crepe long-sleeved Fall 2013 gown not only features sparkling paillette embroidery on the capelet and neck-tie, but also features a sexy open back and central slit.

Keeping the blue Miu Miu train rolling, the singer styled her look with a royal-blue Miu Miu leather gold-framed bag and navy-and-silver trim and Sorellina rings.

The colour is perfect for her porcelain complexion and, like Carey, Florence also opted for a barely there makeup look.

When it comes to eveningwear Miuccia has more misses than hits. This is a certified rare hit.

I don’t like the bag and the neck-tie, but the gown is nice and more interesting than Carey’s dress.

The modified version is perfect for a premiere! The color is very rich against her skin. The only thing I wanna change is her bag!

+1 love the pop of colour via her nails

perfection, as per usual with Ms. Welch

I agree this is a rare hit, even if I would have taken off the neck-tie and that ugly and inappropriate bag. Maybe the best dressed of the night, also because there was no competition.

I love the colour against her skin and hair tones, but I don’t think the fit is right. Not a big fan of the collar or neck tie either. Something more vintage, or something more akin to her LACMA Gucci gown would have been nicer, I think.

I am not a big fan of this look. The bag sticks out like a sore thumb and the neck tie is questionable too.

    fabulous!

Joining the majority… not liking the bag and the neck-tie, they steer the look into a frumpy territory a bit for me, could’ve been a sleek sexy and elegant look otherwise.

    I always love Florence!

    She looks amazing

The colour is fabulous and I love it against her red hair and nails. Too bad the changes made the dress a very matronly one. Not even the slit can save it.
I agree with others, the purse is terrible.

I don’t like anything about this. The dress is blah and unflattering, she was having a bad hair day and the accessories are very WTH?!

Lovely! Much better than the runway version!

I love the color with her hair, but I wish the dress was better fitted. I like the beaded lapels but not the flight stewardess bedazzled necktie. I also don’t love the slit. Her bag isn’t really working etiher.
