Queen Máxima of the Netherlands In Jan Taminiau – Inauguration Of King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands Water Pageant

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima boarded the king’s boat for the water pageant to celebrate the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands after the abdication of his mother Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands in Amsterdam, Netherlands on Monday.

This event capped a day of high fashion we don’t usually see unless it’s the Oscars, Cannes or the Met Gala.

Máxima was the epitome of elegance once again, wearing yet another custom made piece by Dutch-born designer, Jan Taminiau.

She opted to add a camel cape and burgundy shawl to her burgundy-and-nude lace gown due to the backless and off-the-shoulder nature of the dress, plus counter the cold breeze from being on the boat.

Opting to go sans tiara, she did style her look with a selection of subtle dazzling jewels.

Love the gown and the burgundy shawl. She looks radiant and very happy. The camel coat looks like a horse blanket, but it most certainly would have kept her warm!

Loved this gown when I saw it backless, without the shawl and it looks even more elegant with the shawl. Not really liking the cape, but I’m sure she was freezing. She looks enchanting.

From what little I can see it is a lovely dress. But it looks windy, so I can understand her wanting to cover up.

She looks gorgeous. She technically did still sport a Tiara, or at least pieces of one, she wore the diamond stars from her wedding tiara scattered through her hair. She looked every inch the queen, all day yesterday.

She is very elegant, indeed, and intelligent and classy. And, most of all she has that beautiful warm smile!
