Katy Perry In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2013 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Katy Perry In Giambattista Valli Couture - 2013 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

Katy Perry was on her best fashion behavior at last night’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington, D.C.

She wore a conservative (for her!) Giambattista Valli Fall 2012 Couture silk draped gown.

Recently embarking on a blue-infused ‘The Smurfs 2′ promo circuit, the chameleon-like songstress changed her colours with this moss-green dress, which was a gorgeous hue with her jet-black locks.

I barely recognized the stripped-down version of this design from its runway predecessor, so covered it was in an embarrassment of flora and fauna.

She did keep one element of Katy-like quirk in the look in homage to the runway’s theatrical forest—the branch-inspired bronze belt. But it only whispered of the dress’s original garden state.

I could actually see the more free-spirited fashion side of Katy wearing the butterfly headpiece, but I’m glad she didn’t on this occasion.

Even her makeup, a classic winged eye and pink lip, was on the subdued side.

Her most simple look to date. Stunning.

Have you seen the pictures of her from the side, with her clothing tag visible? I really loved this look on her but just couldn’t get past that tag on her hip!

I love this look, from the colour of the gown to the interesting belt and her simple styling. She looks stunning.

      I agree. She looks stunning.

Best dressed of the night for me.

Love this simple, elegant, and classy look. Glad she kept the belt. The color is fantastic. The bodice looks a little too tight/is sitting too low but otherwise it’s great.

  6. Summer's here. April 28, 2013 at 18:32 #

I love the dress but the color isn’t flattering on her.

  7. Rosanna April 28, 2013 at 18:40 #

Charming look for Katy, love the belt and color!

She looks pretty and the colour is so soothing. Glad she put that belt on.

I love that belt, it works perfectly with the dress. Katy looks really beautiful, it’s a great look for her.

I feel like pulling the bodice up, though.

I love this! It’s elegant, simple and chic!!!

Pleasantly surprised by Katy here. She looks very pretty. A nice simple look from her for once.

This one of the best she ever looked. Love her in black hair and the forest belt matched the Giambattista gown perfectly.

  14. Nat April 29, 2013 at 14:01 #

Love the dress and the styling but I think she doesn’t look good on strapless gowns.

  15. Amanda April 29, 2013 at 14:21 #

Saw her in person getting out of the car and she looked AMAZING! Her waist is tiny in person and I want her hair!!

  16. Moxie April 29, 2013 at 15:35 #

Beautiful gown, but the fit around the bodice is off. The butterfly headband would have made a better and more interesting belt than the one she has on.

  17. Amy April 29, 2013 at 22:54 #

I love the belt. It’s just different. She looks great
