Hayden Panettiere In Katharine Kidd – 2013 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Hayden Panettiere In Katherine Kidd - 2013 White House Correspondents' Association

Hayden Panettiere attended the 2013 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C., which is affectionately known as the ‘nerd prom’ for journalists.

The ‘Nashville’ starlet certainly put on her prom-queen best last night.

She attempted to defy gravity in her pale-yellow gown from Katharine Kidd’s Spring 2012 collection. The sideless and strapless effect was accomplished with illusion mesh panels.

But the Swarovski crystal beaded-thread strands and the draped-curtain sides, hanging on to this silk tulle pageant-princess dress, were just begging to be pulled off.

I thought the braided updo trend had run its course, but Hayden brought Heidi back to the dinner.

Bohemian gemstone earrings, an Ashlyn’d clutch and a pert red lip polished off this schizophrenic look that read to costume-y for this event.

The beaded strands give the appearance that the dress is coming apart at the seams…ironic, since they’re supposed to be decoration. There is too much draping going on and the dress overwhlems Hayden.

The only thing I like is the earrings.

    This is a big NO.

This would be “risque” at a mtv awards, seeing as they are like NO SIDEBOOB, but besides that, its fully on tacky looking, not classy, the fabrics cheap… and just strange looking

this is just a mess and yes very much costumey. this girl needs a major style upgrade she has never had a great moment.

well, I hate the dress, but based one one of the photos in the washington post’s coverage, I can say her hair and makeup look lovely when photographed in more natural lighting.

Looks very much like a tacky prom dress to me! And not very event appropriate either.

Just awful! It’s like the designer tried to make a modern sexy take on Belle’s dress and it failed. Epically.

  9. Appollonia April 28, 2013 at 20:46 #

The dress should be burnt ,the designer sued and her pictures forbidden .

Everything is wrong with this, from the colour, to the shape, to the way it fits her, to the styling. Tragic.

For some reason she never gets it right for me. I think she has an idea of a whole look going in but at the end it doesnt translate good. Perfect example this look . The dress to me is a little “costume-e” and the hair, too over done.

    Just wrong.

The buttery yellow shade is the only thing I like here.

This dress is cheesy and sleazy (thanks to those sheer sides). The color is all wrong on her skin; the makeup is too dark and the hair makes it too childish. The earrings are really the only thing I like.

She went with “sexy Cinderella”. Which is not a look I had ever imagined necessary. I don’t think it’s awful. The color is lovely against her skin, the styling is nice and the braided up do helps with the fairy tale theme. However, I don’t think nude illusion side panels belong at a political function. Maybe this would be best saved for the Venice Film Festival. That’s the place to look like a fairy princess who has no intention of getting home by midnight.

This dress has no business being at anything White House or Washington related. I feel like that’s the nicest i can be about it.

  17. Christine April 28, 2013 at 15:56 #

This is terrible look. bad styling, and everything.

  18. Charlotte April 28, 2013 at 15:56 #

    It’s awful !

  19. Kandi April 28, 2013 at 15:34 #

Hideous dress. Unflattering and EVENT INAPPROPRIATE.

  20. Jai April 28, 2013 at 13:53 #

This is really not the right dress or hair for the event. Not that this dress would be right for any event.

  21. Yeliz April 28, 2013 at 13:20 #

Such an awful gown, which also looks cheap IMO. Thumbs down from me.

  22. Kaylie April 28, 2013 at 13:01 #

    This dress is a mess.

      Totally agree.

    • Mandy April 29, 2013 at 06:05 #

There is no way to save this look

  23. Noemi April 28, 2013 at 12:47 #

There’s too much going on in the dress, for my taste. And I think that the hairstyle is not right for it.

  24. Alicat April 28, 2013 at 12:28 #

What a strange, awkward dress. The bib-like panel at the front looks like a tacked on afterthought. This is really evident in the side shots. I don’t mind the pretty, pastel yellow, but that is the only positive thing I can say about it. The hair is just awful.

    • Pati April 28, 2013 at 18:26 #

Totally agree. And I usually like what she wears, I kind of find the overtly sweet princessy style just right for the petite and young actress she is, but this is simply a disaster. There’s not one thing I like about this look.
