BAFTA New York Celebrates ‘Mad Men’

BAFTA New York Celebrates ‘Mad Men

BAFTA New York celebrated the leading lovelies, (and the dapper guys, too), of AMC’s ‘Mad Men’ on Monday at The Harvard Club in New York City. I wanted to be ‘mad’ about the ladies’ looks, but I was left feeling a bit underwhelmed by a few of them.

Jessica Paré:  The Canadian stunner wore a jade-green dress, gilded in gold bric-a-brac at the neck and sleeves, from L’Wren Scott’s Fall 2013 collection. The slimline dress showed off her figure, but I couldn’t take my eyes off the distracting black Casadei ‘Blade’ pumps. They weren’t right for this look, as I much preferred the metallic gold shoes that took to the runway.

January Jones: With her black leather Versace motorcycle jacket and printed Parker mini-skirt, the actress mixed punk and playful styles. Black Miu Miu platform pumps and a tousled bob finished this sporty moment that was certainly worlds away from her classic-glam ‘Mad Men’ character.

Christina Hendricks: The flame-haired star covered up her curves in a long-sleeve, knee-length black Valentino dress. While it did have some silhouette-enhancing trim at the waist and bodice, these details all but disappeared into the blackness. The spark was further extinguished with tired Stuart Weitzman black shoes—a more inspired pair would have worked wonders. At least Christina’s bold red lip provided some much-needed drama.

Kiernan Shipka: The young starlet stood out here with her adorable Dolce & Gabbana bow-accented frock that managed to look simultaneously sophisticated and age-appropriate. She also gets points for her retro side-swept wave and her decision to opt out of black pumps, choosing instead a mesh pair.

She just blew me away. Such poise at a young age is really something else.

Kiernan’s look is BDOTW-worthy and she certainly blew everyone here away!
I like Jessica’s dress, I think it would have looked fab on Christina as well. Everybody’s shoes (except Kiernan’s) were disappointing, but January’s look is cute too. Christina’s matronly look is the only one that is really flopping for me here.

Kiernan always looks amazing! so age appropriate, so elegant! I absolutely love this look. her hair, her dress, her shoes are perfect. wish I had that dress in my closet! Kiernan is seriously the best dressed young starlet on the red carpet. <333

Kiernan and Jessica are the winners for me. I love Jessica’s dress tho I agree the shoes are a snooze. Kiernan always looks fabulous–she is just right.

January Jones looks like a stepford wife trying to do edgy. I just can’t get behind this look because it looks so ungenuine.
Jessica Pare wins it because although her shoes are black, her dress is awesome. Christina Hendricks is second because her makeup and hair make wearing black look sooo good.

How perfect is that Shipka shoe choice?! I’m telling you that girl slays me!

Kiernan looks amazing! Although I’m still over the fence with those shoes. I love January’s look. She really looks like she’s having a lot of fun dressing up. I love her red carpet style. Love her to pieces! :)
