Naomi Watts In Alexander McQueen – ‘Sunlight Jr.’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Naomi Watts In Alexander McQueen - 'Sunlight Jr' Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

When Naomi Watts attended the world premiere of her film, ‘Sunlight Jr.,’ with co-star Matt Dillon at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, she did her part to keep the pattern-and-prints trend alive and well.

The actress walked the red carpet in a stained-glass-printed Autumn/Winter dress by Alexander McQueen, matched with a pair of triangular Monique Péan earrings and a blood-orange clutch.

The look takes a step in the wrong direction when it comes to the shoes, though. I wasn’t in love with these heavy black platforms, as a lighter, more vivacious shoe would have played much nicer with the kaleidoscope pattern of the dress.

Naomi also adopted the less-is-more beauty approach, with hardly any evidence of makeup and barely-styled hair.

She looks amazing from the ankles up. Love everything. With the right shoes this could’ve been a BDOTW worthy look.

The shoes are too heavy for this look. But I like everything else.

Love the dress but hate the shoes.

I love this dress ! This print is gorgeous. It’s a shame she chose this hideous shoes, with the right shoes it would have been a perfect look !

I guess this is my personal taste but I really dislike the pattern on this dress. The cut is flattering. I am just not a fan of the current trend for loud, overly busy prints.

+1 also she needs less heavy shoes.

I do not understand the hair or shoes here. It’s a shame because I like the print and the dress is figure-flattering.

Gorgeous dress, but the shoes and hair are all wrong.

A rare misstep for Naomi Watts.
I think I would like the dress itself on someone else, preferably a brunette, and with decent styling.

Yes, this is such a gorgeous dress and she looks so good until you get to the feet. Those shoes are absolutely fugly. What was she thinking?!

  9. Yeliz April 22, 2013 at 17:55 #

Those shoes are so awful. Can’t believe Naomi even considered wearing them. This look is amazing from the ankles up.

She looks divine from the waist up (as seen in the pic at right) I think the dress could be a tad shorter and I am aghast at the shoe choice.

This is proof that wrong shoes can ruin the whole look!

  12. Alex April 22, 2013 at 22:32 #

I am pretending the shoes don’t exist!

Not sure if the pattern is good are bad–it’s definitely interesting but I don’t like the orange. I don’t like the neckline (too low, and not really flattering) or the shoes either. The clutch is nice.

I really like it from the ankles up. Even the hair. But those shoes, dear God! I cannot fathom what possessed her to think it was all right to wear them.
