Elizabeth Hurley In Blumarine and Kate Hudson In Ann Taylor – 2013 Hot Pink Party

Elizabeth Hurley and Kate Hudson - 2013 Hot Pink Party

Elizabeth Hurley and Kate Hudson attended the 2013 Hot Pink Party at The Waldorf Astoria in New York City on Wednesday night.

It appeared only one person got the pink memo.

Elizabeth Hurley: As ambassador of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Liz wore a plunging pink sequined Blumarine Fall 2013 frock with a light-pink tulle hem. The figure-flattering, cleavage-baring dress may be considered over the top or regarded as an insensitive choice considering the occasion, but I guess her stance is to celebrate the great work the charity does. Blown-out waves and Chopard jewels completed her look.

Kate Hudson: The blonde actress’s approach was the total opposite. She kept her look simple yet she looked so very chic, wearing a black Ann Taylor long-sleeved gown. Nope, this look is far from boring; I just love her styling, with the multi-coloured snakeskin peep-toes, the gold cuff and Erickson Beamon earrings, with smoky eyes and nude lips providing the finishing touches.

Despite my love of pink, sequins and high glamour, I much prefer Kate’s look on this occasion. Simple, sexy glamour at its finest. J’adore.

Loving Kate’s look. She looks sexy.

      +1 yes

  3. Yeliz April 18, 2013 at 15:06 #

Much prefer Kate’s simple look too. Liz looks tacky.

Kate killed it. Liz just looks too ice-skaterish even though I applaud her choice to wear pink and both ladies get kudos for supporting a good cause.

Liz is simply stunning and perfectly embodies the spirit of the night… hot pink party!

    Kate looks marvelous!

I’m not very fond of Liz Hurley’s style.

Kate looks really good. I’m going to be in the minority, but I love Liz’s look. The event was the Hot Pink Party and I think this is an appropriate look.

Pink is one of my favorite colors (and I love sequins), but I also love black. I prefer Kate Hudson, too.

Kate looks nice/classy (couldn’t she have done a pink shoe or something at least?), but I really do love Liz’s look. The pattern/stripe effect reminds me of the ribbons and I love it. She’s the Ambassador so pink makes sense, and I don’t think this is as overtly sexy as many of her past looks. I think it’s perfect for this.

Both ladies look good, but I have to say that Kate Hudson looks just spectacular. She is a BDOTW contender for me–and tough to beat.

I wish Kate had worn pink shoes but she looks absolutely great. Liz looks tacky and pretty much like an aging Miss America contestant. Not loving the style or plunging neckline.

Taken out of context, without any regard to the event, I much prefer Kate Hudson’s elegant, minimalist look. She looks wonderful!

But I have to say I’m disappointed that the pink-dress theme isn’t being observed the way I remember it used to be. I have to give Elizabeth Hurley props for getting the PINK and the PARTY elements right.

    Love Kate’s simple elegance.

FCC, do you know who designed the gown that Aerin Lauder wore at the same event? Thanks?

Kate is just the best!! So sexy and chic!

  15. Lee Ann April 18, 2013 at 17:10 #

Liz look like a Vegas show girl-all she is missing is the head feathers, much prefer Kate .

  16. Kathy April 18, 2013 at 18:38 #

Liz’s gown is fabulous. I love sequined dresses, and this one is fresh yet age-appropriate. Kate’s dress is so elegant, and the gold cuff is a nice touch. Both women look like bona-fide movie stars.

  17. Amy April 18, 2013 at 18:54 #

Kate looks nice. Sleek and chic.
Not a fan of Liz’s dress

    Kate looks amazing!

    BDOTW

Liz looks dated and tacky as usual. Kate looks very nice, not BDOTW for me though.

Liza Hurley has never moved on with her style. She is stuck in a time warp of her own favouring tight, sparkly dresses with plunging necklines which verge on tacky. On the other hand, Kate Hudson has blossomed and looks fabulous in this understated and chic dress. Her hair and makeup are perfect.

  21. TL April 19, 2013 at 03:52 #

    Definitely Kate, she looks great.

  22. Alex April 19, 2013 at 06:57 #

Given the event, I think Liz looks great.
    Kate looks hot, as usual!

I knew there was a reason Lisa Vanderpump always looked so familiar to me

  24. MaddyEliza April 19, 2013 at 19:49 #

I love both of their looks!! Love the pink and sparkles of Liz’s look, and the simple elegance of Kate’s. both are BDOTW contenders for me!

  25. gabis April 19, 2013 at 20:29 #

I always get a 90′s vibe from whatever Liz Hurley wears. And this time is no different, dated and tacky. She desperately needs a style makeover.
The only good comment I can make about this look is that at least the dress has no big cleavage or high slit.
