Miriam Yeung In Saint Laurent – 2013 Hong Kong Film Awards

Miriam Yeung In Saint Laurent - 2013 Hong Kong Film Awards

Miriam Yeung shows off her Best Actress award at the 2013 Hong Kong Film Awards on Saturday.

For her second look of the night, the award-winning actress chose the Saint Laurent ‘Le Smoking’ Spring 2013 gown.

While I completely understand the need to close up this neckline a bit from how it came down the runway, in so doing, Miriam lost a bit of the visual appeal. With such a lot of black fabric, the extra skin accentuated by the stunning necklace on the runway adds a cool boho feel to the gown.

Without that boho accessorizing, Miriam just looks a bit matronly.

What do you think might have boosted this look up to the next level for Miriam?

I prefer her Elie Saab look.

I prefer her interpretation over the runway presentation.

She looks better than the runway model, but she needed a little something extra. This is boring and forgettable.

Halloweenish on the model, dull, gloomy, and matronly on Miriam, isn’t working either way. I can only think of a pretty embellished clutch to elevate her version a bit.

I like the dress but this look needed some accessories and some color.

This collection is just blergh. Very disappointing.

Glad she made the modesty modification, but the gown is kind aging-fortune-teller to start with. Not great, imo.
