Kate Mara In Kate Young For Target – Kate Young For Target Launch Event

Kate Mara worked the red carpet at the Kate Young for Target Launch Event in New York City last night.

The actress wore a yellow beaded Kate Young For Target Dress, $59.99, with Brian Atwood ‘Wagner’ peep-toes.

I think very few women look good with their hair pulled tightly back, but Kate is definitely one of them. I love that she’s got her hair up and back, so that you can see the beading and form of this dress.

Yet somehow, it doesn’t look as youthful and fun on Kate as it does on the model. Does she just need the red lip like the model? Or is it the longer length that throws things off? I can’t quite decide, but it just doesn’t seem as fresh and appealing as it does on the model.

Help me out: what makes the dress look so much less joyful on Kate?
