Sarah Jessica Parker In Alexandra New York Vintage – Cindy Chao’s ‘The Art Jewel’ Event

Sarah Jessica Parker In Alexandra New York Vintage - Cindy Chao’s ‘The Art Jewel’ Event

As an ambassador for the brand, Sarah Jessica Parker attended the Cindy Chao’s ‘The Art Jewel’ event held in Beijing, China on Sunday evening.

The actress, who is not only an avid fan of jewels but also of vintage clothing, wore a chartreuse fit-and-flare frock from Alexandra New York.

While chartreuse is not an easy colour to pull off, especially in this shimmering fabric, I think the lavender suede Jean-Michel Cazabat ‘Ella’ d’orsay pumps do a good job of elevating the look, as do the sparkling Cindy Chao jewels, which include the ‘Branch’ bangles, the ‘Donut’ bangle, and the ‘Feather’ earrings.

Can SJP do no wrong and make this colour work for you?

A look from SJP that I actually like! I’m impressed. I really like this. Yes, the colour is difficult to work with, but she pulls it off for sure. I love the shape of this dress too, and her earrings.

I loved this look the first time I saw it. Thanks for mentionining the color of the shoes, FC, because I thought they were white and that was ruining the effect for me. Even so, this is a BDOTW for me.

This is a yikes look for me. The color just does not work on her skin tone. It makes her arms look like she’s wearing a long-sleeved shirt!
There’s nothing to be gained with those shoes or bracelets either.

The color really works on her and I like the dress. This could have been a GREAT look if she had let the unusual, shimmery chartreuse speak for itself instead of over-styling the look — as usual.

The earrings are good, but she doesn’t need that green bracelet, nor bracelets on both arms. And she definitely doesn’t need to wear pastel, near-white, suede pumps. I think they detract from the rich, baroque feel of the jewel-toned dress.

She looks nice — but missed the chance to look fantastic.

+1. Well said. The shoes are a major distraction.

+2 to every word. Great dress, great potential–shoes are horrid and bracelets unfortunate. I also would have put her hair up in a romantic updo.

    i hate her shoes

      Me too!

I really like the colour and it goes well against her tan and dark blonde mane. The shoes look white more than lavender (I don’t mind white per se) but make for an interesting contrast. Another plus- No crossbody bag!

I like everything but the shoes.

For some reason, I’m really bothered by her pose and I don’t like the colour of the dress either.

This is a BDOTW candidate for me. She looks amazing. The color, the fit and, of course, the jewelry. Gorgeous

love it, love it, love it!!! It’s not that it’s a very risky or innovative but I like the fact that she is making it look so effortless…

I really can’t decide. I particularly dislike this color + shimmering.
However, for some unknown reason she makes it work 🙂

For me, she’s making this work. As a bonus, she’s not wearing a cross-body bag, lol. I would have preferred her hair up, though.
