Thandie Newton In Stella McCartney – British Film Industry Reception

Thandie Newton In Stella McCartney - British Film Industry Reception

Queen Elizabeth II greeted Gurinder Chadha, Damian Lewis, Helen McCrory and Thandie Newton at a reception for the British Film Industry held at Windsor Castle yesterday in Berkshire, England.

If you watch ‘Chelsea Lately’, you would’ve already known the that British actress was going to wear a Stella McCartney suit, and she did.

Sadly, the look was only captured from the side, but we get the gist of Thandie’s Stella McCartney bespoke grey tweed peplum fitted long-sleeve dress.

While the required ‘Hello My Name Is..’ badge doesn’t quite go with the ensemble, the black beaded bag and black Charlotte Olympia wedges with gold piping add not so strait-laced elements to her conservative look.

The shoes ruined it for me.

Aren’t these the Charlotte Olympia wedges she wore to the 2012 Laureus World Sports Awards?

I like everything except the shoes, they’re too heavy and unflattering with the dress.

From the front I love the jacket but it is strange the way the peplum just stops so the back is short. The skirt fits beautifully but it is too long. This called for much more elegant shoes.

Why wear such casual-looking wedges when you’re going to meet the Queen? I don’t get it. I’d feel silly if I were her in those.

The flared detail at the front is really odd, would’ve liked it better at the back. The clunky wedges combined with this length aren’t working here.

Not liking the shoes with this dress and overall this look is just OK for me.

    I really like this.

She looks good, her body looks smoking hot.

    Nice posterior, Thandie 🙂

LOL … yes! Who knew! Love Thandie as always but I would have preferred black pumps to the almost casual wedges.

I like it from the ankles up, she looks smart yet fashionable with clutch a jazzy touch. The wedges however, are just clunky and not particularly elegant. Who knew tiny Thandie had such a pert derriere?!

      Damien Lewis – Yum.

I love the material and the look from the front byt rom the side it looks odd and makes her look wider than she is-if it does that to a stick like her i would hate to see Kim K in it. Also a smidgeon too long and the shoes are too heavy. another hommage to Dior but executed poorly.
A broach would have looked nice too.

I could be wrong but I believe the clutch is Marni.

+1 From the side it’s odd. Like a half-peplum..not flattering. I like her hair and clutch, but not the shoes (you’re spot on with the Dior reference) and not her eyeshadow. The Queen looks very elegant 🙂

Not crazy about the shoes and I don’t like the flared part on the front of the dress. She still is stunning though.
