Julianne Hough In Carolina Herrera – Second Annual FABB West Opening Night Cocktail Party

Julianne Hough In Carolina Herrera - Second Annual FABB West Opening Night Cocktail Party

Julianne Hough made her first red carpet appearance as a single gal at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, California for the Second Annual FABB West Opening Night Cocktail Party.

As you know, I’m not that much of a fan of Julianne’s style, what with the princess dresses and rockabilly hairstyles, but she looked very grown up and sophisticated wearing a Carolina Herrera Spring 2013 ensemble on this occasion.

Opting not to wear the sea-foam blouse as presented on the runway, she wore an electric-orange short-sleeved knit sweater with an abstract-print skirt with red piping and a skinny red belt.

Even though I wish the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Spring 2013 yellow satin ‘Isabel’ three strap heels were sandals, she looks flawless, with her hair and makeup much improved too.

I guess when she stopped trying so hard, the real her has come to the surface.

    This skirt is awful !
    This look is really unflaterring.

On the model, it may be not of everyone’s liking but at least is interesting and good looking. On Julianne, I’m afraid it’s far from flawless… Looks matronly and unflattering to me.

    Waist up – Like..
Waist down – Not much, its too jarring, both the skirt and the pumps.

I hate the skirt – it’s too long. I understand she couldn’t shorten it given the detail but then don’t wear it if it doesn’t fit like it should. The shoes are gross. She looks gorgeous waist up though.

The length of the skirt is terrible and so are the shoes with this ensemble. Even though I like the top half of this look, overall it gets a thumb down from me.

She doesn’t have the height to pull this off. Really like it on the model–the shoes are horrid and the skirt is awkward on Julianne. Like the sweater, though, and the overall effort.

I agree the shoes are hideous

Pretty much a fail. I agree with the others–the ensemble is fabulous on the model, but not so much on Julianne. It might have been better if she had worn the sweater out with the belt on top, but the skirt just doesn’t hang right on her–it looks cheap and awkward. Her hair and makeup are wonderful, however.

I do not like this look at all. Ugh. How unfortunate. :(

haha lol yes I agree, such a bad look for her.

The shirt/skirt combo looks good when the shirt isn’t tucked in. Tucking in the shirt makes her look like a cowgirl, and not in a good way.

I like everything but the shoes.

  11. Christine April 5, 2013 at 14:57 #

She is not rocking this look.

The skirt is not very nice looking and don’t even get me started on the shoes. Overall, I am disappointed

I really dislike this look. It really ages her. She normally looks so young & happy but I don’t get that here at all.

  14. TeaAtTwo April 5, 2013 at 17:23 #

I like the top half but I’m not crazy about the shirt and the shoes are plain unappealing. Like Olivia Munn I wouldn’t associate her with a designer such as Carolina Herrera.

Julianna looks like she’s trying too hard to be a fashionista. There’s nothing effortless about it at all. This look reminds me of something Jessica Biel would wear… another fashion victim with no personal style.
