Kate Waterhouse attended the Westfield Autumn/Winter 2013 launch at Pelicano Bar in Sydney, Australia yesterday afternoon.
For those who don’t know much about Kate, the best person I can liken her to is Olivia Palermo, except Kate does have a job: as a journalist for The Sun Herald.
After a few disappointing looks, she fares much better in this not so try-hard look.
The journalist/fashionista wore a Givenchy Resort 2013 paisley-print t-shirt with solid-white sleeves, which she styled with a Christopher Kane Spring 2013 skirt.
The charming embossed leather skirt infuses a lot of attitude into her look, with a simple cuff and simple sandals blending in nicely without being too bold.
Her hair was left to its own devices, with shimmering lip colour and a dark-berry mani and pedi completing the look.
This look appeals to me as it doesn’t feel too contrived.
Does it appeal to you, or is she still trying too hard in your eyes?

“This look appeals to me as it doesn’t feel too contrived.” +1, I like this look.
I like the skirt and the shoes but I’m not a fan of that top.
Agree–the top is clunky. This woman doesn’t hold a candle to Olivia Palermo.
“… the best person I can liken her to is Olivia Palermo, except Kate does have a job….”
I like each piece separately but I’m not crazy about them together. I’d prefer a plain top to set off the skirt and draw attention to its details — or a plain skirt to highlight the blouse.
It works okay though, and she looks fine.
Is it just me or does her skirt appear to be too tight?
This look is nice enough, but her style just seems so forced.
I like the top and the skirt. Not the shoes.
I like the look, its not at all forced. The separates does compliment each other in a good way.
Cant get behind the top, I think a white top would have worked much better here. Otherwise nice from the waist down
I’m going to give her a pass on this look, because it’s pretty well put together. I like the top, but the skirt feels really cheap and bulky. I would have preferred a plain leather pencil skirt. The colors look good with her hair.
