Padma Lakshmi made a bold statement when she took to the red carpet at Capitale in New York City yesterday evening for The Endometriosis Foundation of America’s Celebration of The 5th Annual Blossom Ball.
She wore a Monique Lhuillier Spring 2013 gown with an kaleidoscopic crane print.
You have to have a lot of confidence to pull off this look, so luckily Padma has that in spades.
Instead of letting her gown do all the work, she added gold statement earrings, a red manicure and hot-pink lips to her look.
Do you think she over-cooked it or are you glad she amped up the look?

She should have chosen either the pink lippy or the statement earring. They both aren’t working together.
Other than that, she is easily working that dress!
The dress is gorgeous and the fitting is outstanding but I can’t get past that tacky styling. The pink lips and nails combined with the large golden jewelry is just too tacky for my taste. The hair works but I don’t love it. I think it could’ve been styled in a different, more beautiful way.
+1 Beautiful dress…hating the styling.
The dress is beautiful. I like the dress on its own.
Beautiful from the neck down. The messy hair, statement earrings and bright pink lippy are OTT. One of the three would have worked, but not all three together.
The pink lippy doesn’t work for me, but she looks outstanding in the dress.
The lipstick is a bit of a turn-off, really. Otherwise, a great look for Padma.
My only issue are the earrings. I don’t think they go with the dress.
+1
I like this look except for maybe the lipstick and the hairstle. It should’ve been down like the model’s.
LOVE the dress, the print is amazing, it’s bdotw worthy on its own, shame about the styling, she got it all wrong with the statement gold jewellery.
she could have stopped at the pink lipstick because then she could have really looked brilliant! but the earrings don’t belong here at all.
Love the dress, hate the hair and generally think the styling looks slapdash. Too bad–great dress and it looks fab on her curvy body.
