Nicole Richie, who has also returned from Paris Fashion Week front row duty, was spotted out in New York City yesterday en route to the ‘Today’ show to promote the new season of ‘Fashion Star’.
Does her look qualify her as a fashion star? There is a lot going on here so let’s start from the top.
She wore a Helmut Lang Mongolian-fur jacket slung over her shoulders, which were bare as her Stella McCartney ‘Columbia’ fringe blouse was sleeveless.
J Brand’s ‘Super Skinny’ black leather pants gave her cool look a rock n’ roll edge, as did her House of Harlow circular sunglasses.
The rest of her accessories included snakeskin pumps and a tri-colour Fendi tote.
Take away the fringed top and we have a great look. With such a heavy, textural coat, the top feels a bit fussy.

I totally agree with you FC. The fringed top is overkill. If she wanted to wear that for the appearance, a more restrained coat would have been better. I would opt for the coat as I think it is fabulous. I haven’t loved this long fringe in any of its incarnations.

Nice pants, so-so coat, fantastic top but don’t work with the rest of the clothes. But those sunglasses are one of the ugliest glasses I’ve ever seen (70′s Elton John included)

Yeah, I can’t help but think about the Stella McCartney with fur. What’s up with that? Personally, I’ve got no problem with fur, but I know Stella is against it so it is just bizarre to put the two together. Seems this is happening more lately.
Also, something about this is reminding me of the Olsen twins.

This is insane. As Joy said, very Olsen twins. The fringed top is OK, but that is actually all I like.
