Ashanti was spotted outside MTV Studios in New York City this week prior to her interview on VH1’s Big Morning Buzz to promote Lifetime’s hit drama ‘Army Wives’.
As we’ve seen earlier in the week, black and white is on trend.
Sadly, Ashanti took things a little too far.
Her high-end labelled look featured a Balmain long-sleeved baseball top, which she paired with Balmain jersey harem pants and Givenchy check-embossed lace-up booties.
While individually – excluding the MC Hammer pants – these pieces would work with solid separates, together….well just look at it. It’s an assault on the eyes.
Check, floral, and stripe prints? There is just too much going on. Even Solange Knowles would say “hell, no” to this heavily printed look.
It took a lot of money to look this bad.

LOL @ it took a lot of money to look this bad!
I agree about the might be able to work as separates (excluding those pants), but the toe opening on those shoes… wow – I reallyyy hope that huge bootie toe opening doesn’t start flooding the shoe market :S
This look is such a hot mess that I even feel sorry for her.
Even individually, none of these pieces work for me. So when you put them together, this is a disastuh -_-
Yikes, this is bad and especially painful knowing that the cost of this outfit could probably feed a small village for a year.
OMG this is terrible! What’s black and white and crazy all over?
I don’t like any of the pieces individually, either. Definitely hoping that those shoes don’t become a trend.
I like the top and the shoes, although certainly not together. The top would be cute with a pair of jeans. The shoes would be cute with the right solid color dress. The pants are awful, however. And those pieces together add up to a hot mess.
I don’t think I have seen one outfit of hers that I liked. Her style is terrible and this is no exception.
My eyes are aching. And then she had to add those enormous earrings. This doesn’t even work for a singer.
Absolute disaster, separately or not. My eyes!!!
Horrific.
This goes straight in my WDOTY list.
Just no.
UGH, this look makes my eyeballs hurt. NO NO NO
