Juliette Lewis attended the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscars party, hosted by editor Graydon Carter, on Sunday night.
The actress entered Hollywood’s Sunset Tower in a cream-coloured halter gown by Vionnet.
There was a lot going on with this dress—from the draped wrap skirt that revealed black and neon yellow layers on the side to the nipped-in waist that was tied up with a bow. And who could miss the whimsical fringe of dandelion-like embellishment that floated all across the dress.
Adding to the quirk factor was Juliette’s crimson hair, which was coaxed back into a side ‘do. I’m now wondering if this hair colour is what is bothering me about this look.
One thing’s certain, the dress was a departure from the glitz and glam in many others seen at the after parties.

I love this look. Definitely one of the best-dressed at the Oscar After-parties. It’s relaxed and effortless, but still statuesque and regal.

She looks beautiful!

Intriguing choice – Juliette looks beautiful here. I associate her with wacky, outre get-ups, so this is refreshing.
Looks like bugs.

I do like this look–on her. On others it might not work, but she looks happy and relaxed and pretty.
Oh dear. This is awful. I don’t know what possessed her to wear this. And I agree with Rebecca Z–the pattern on her dress looks like bugs and it’s freaking me out.
Call me crazy but I like this look. So quirky and fun.
Ditto.

+1. I really like this. Its different but beautiful.
I appreciate her sense of whimsy but this just isn’t working for me. It looks too much like kitchen curtains. The shaping, such as it is, does nothing to flatter her.
its fresh and different!!!
one-of the best’s?! totally!!
I like the print of the dress, but the style is sloppy, unflattering, and her hair is really off.
Ditto. It’s all off and sloppy.
I love this look – I am a sucker for a patterned dress, and the neckline and the draping of this is very elegant and relaxed. I think Juliette Lewis is not your average red carpet starlet and she is obviously comfortable wearing something a little riskier – good for her.
Yes, I do love this look, a little unexpected on her but love it.
I like it, bugs, dandelions and all, lol. Can a dress be elegantly subversive? If so, then that’s what I think this one is — and it works on Juliette Lewis.
Yes. Yes I do.
Such a refreshingly pretty dress in a sea of sequins, shimmer and tulle! Well done Juliette. The hair and make up could have been better but it’s not so bad as to distract from the dress.
Such a cute dress!
Yuck, this dress is awful.
Risk that paid off!
I may be the only person to think this but is this look event appropriate? It’d be a pretty look for a different occasion IMO …
I hate her haircolor! and the dress looks like flies landing all over it. no good.
This dress has too much going on, i don’t like it at all!
I don’t mind her hair colour but the hair style doesn’t appear to be working well here. The dress is nice and different but not really memorable.
