As expected Zoe Saldana blew me away on the red carpet yesterday evening at the 2013 Oscars, which was held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
The ‘Star Trek Into The Darkness’ actress selected a look from Alexis Mabille’s Spring 2013 collection.
Oozing effortless vibe many of use strive to achieve, the actress looked sensational in her strapless pale-grey crepe bustier gown with tonal belt, floral appliqués around the neckline and layer skirt which graduated from pale grey to blacky.
At this type of event you look for something a bit different which stands out. Zoe ticked all the boxes.
Roger Vivier ‘Smocking’ sandals, dangling earrings and hair swept behind her ears completed her look.

Perfect H2T. One of my best dressed of the night.
Same for me! The minute this look hit the runway I was looking forward to see it on the red carpet but didn’t expect it to show up at the Oscars, but Zoe delighted in it:)
She is my absolute best dressed. perfect H2T
She was my best dressed of the night too. Followed by Naomi Watts.
I hate that belt! But man that fishtail, sooo sexy, its like… your peeking into a secret or somethign hehe
+1 yes, the belt is so distracting for me!
Saying that, she looks gorgeous in the dress.
Agree, the belt is not working for me. Otherwise, perfect look, love that tail
Perfect!!
I feel the graphic grey gradient doesn’t complement the floral appliqués, it’s like they belong to two different and beautiful gowns.
It doesn’t work for me.
true- it looks to me as if the bodice, belt and skirt belong to three different ensembles
I loved this! Zoe really brought it (as usual) This is so unique and the fit is divine. Loved how she styled it. Her hair and makeup were perfect and I loved the earrings. Icing on the cake, literally!
It’s just ok for me. I think I was expecting more from her.
yeah me too!!!
I love the shoes and bottom portion of dress.
I agree she was at the top of my list for the night
I don’t like the dress. Plus, the belt makes this look cheap.
I feel like I’ve seen Zoe like this a number of times. It’s a lovely dress, but I am not wowed in the least.
She shouldn’t have worn the belt, it has nothing to do with this beautiful gown. Aside from that, she looks amazing.
she looks sensational!. love the degradé tulle layers
i’m not a fan of the belt, but the giant bow is really distracting from how everything else is pitch perfect and how amazing zoe looks.
Amazing, fabulous, glamorous!! Zoe Saldana injects the right amount of glamour in this pale grey Alexis Mabille creation!! Love the cascading ruffled bottom, the tonal belt, and the drop earrings is to-die-for!! Definitely BDOTW contender, Zoe’s nothing short of drama!!! Absolutely stunning!! America and we ASians are damn PROUD of you, Zoe!!!

UGH! Thank God for Zoe Saldana, otherwise I would be drowned in my own drool from the snooze-fest of this year’s red carpet.
Pure perfection! That gown is so very very beautiful and Zoe carries it perfectly. Best dressed, without a doubt!
This was my favorite red carpet gown I think. I just wish she had gone with a sexier shoe. These look granny-ish.
I don’t like this at all, especially the belt. I think she’s done far better in the past.
Not a fan of the belt or the sandals but I haven’t been impressed by Zoe in so long that I’m willing to overlook those details.
She looked beautiful.
I hate the belt and the bow, had that been removed this would have been a great look. Also, her stylist could have found better shoes to compliment this dress.
She looks absolutely marvellous .oh Cmon people! You have a stunning woman wearing a fantastic couture dress and you pay attention on the 3 cm of her BELT?? Have you ever been the slightly close of lookig that good ? Really mean people here.. urgh
Seriously? She was my absolute worst dressed last night! That dress is so horrible in so many ways. There’s too much happening everywhere on it and the lenght of it is weird.
i dont like the dress. it has too many beautiful different things like the belt and the bodice and the train, but all together it doesnt add up.
Look, how funny looks the leg behind her
It kinda reminds me of Angelina’s leg last year.
It is amazing!!
one of the best dressed, for sure!
I love it, one of my fave of the night, but it’s more ‘SAG awards interesting’ rather than ‘Oscar interesting’ imo.
I could have liked this look, but the grey range is a NO, it’s not working at all.
I love everything except the shoes.. They remind me of my grandma’s anatomic shoes..
*anatomical
I think I would like the belt more if it were black. Something looks off with the dress.
This looks like a Golden Globes dress, not an Oscars dress. There’s no wow factor for me except for the beautiful Ms. Saldana herself. Expected more.
She was def one of my favourites of the night. She is simply glowing and I love the simplicity of her hair and make-up
I love it. Easily one of my fave
Perfection
I wanted SO badly to love this.
Belt = terrible
Shoes = horrendous
Overall gown = amazing
Her body = incredible
OMG. LOVE THIS. Absolutely one of the best of the night!! I can’t get enough of this look!! Totally one of my best dressed. Wow. What a stunner!!
Side note: I’m quickly falling in love with Alexis Mabille. I’m loving the designs I’ve been seeing lately!
Everything looks great EXCEPT FOR THE HAIR…
This. is. PERFECTION. Though there were some great looks last night, I was missing a bit of quirky glam–and Zoe brought it! The dress is 10x better on her than the model…I totally love it, it’s one of the best of the night!!!!
Love this look, best we’ve seen Zoe for a while. The dress fit to perfection and I loved the degrade on the bottom – my only niggle was the shoes, they looked a bit low and wide, not so flattering (I am not a fan of Roger Vivier shoes in general).
I can appreciate the fashion here, but it doesn’t move me. There is perhaps, too much going on. If she lost something, either the decoration on the top, the belt, or the layered ombre hem, the gown would improve considerably. The shoe choice is surprisingly bad, too.
One of my favorites of the night. The detail on the bodice was perfection.
One of my favors
Another Oscar success in a ombre ending dress. One of the interesting dresses at the awards show, I really like this look.
Plus, I’m so glad someone looked outside the usual big name designers to dress for the big show.
When I saw it yesterday I was on the face about it, but with each new pic I see, the more I like it.
*fence
Flawless. It has the righ amount of glam and drama. And it fits her so well, look how she glows. On my top 3 of the night for sure.
I absolutely agree
One of my best dressed of the night, So interesting. A risk that paid off!
Love it but too much going on! With those details on the front and bottom! And the belt! Too much …! At least something different on the red carpet!
this is why i like different and zoe saldana! they both go hand in hand. she looked great on TV too. she glided on to the stage so confidently you would think she lived in ball gowns! too good and that too on a red carpet which was so very tame and safe!
I immediately loved the dress and just as quickly hated the belt and bow. At first glance it looks like sea waves that break into a flowery crest. I see unity and beauty. It makes sense. It works. The belt and bow, however, remind you, “This is a dress.” Now, I confess, the more I look at it the more I accept the message the more I like it. The bow gives it that extra bit of visual weight on her right to balance the train. Indeed, conforming too much to wave metaphor (wavy or flowery belt) or no belt at all would have made it nearly as boring as the other dresses that night. I agree with the ogre’s comment above. Too many were lacking in creative flair.
this was my favorite that night.
The gown is great.. and different.. I can live with the belt.. I am not on board with the dangly earrings and the hair. This is one of the best looks
Love love love! Everything about the look is perfect.
