Elizabeth Banks In Alexander McQueen – 2013 Vanity Fair Party

Elizabeth Banks In Alexander McQueen

Elizabeth Banks was one of the many stars to attend the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscars party, hosted on Sunday evening at the Sunset Tower in Hollywood.

The ‘The Hunger Games’ actress wore a bold Alexander McQueen gown, Brian Atwood shoes, Dior jewels and an Alexander McQueen clutch.

The vibrant orange gown makes Elizabeth look fun and fresh and she pulls of the low-cut bodice well.

Unfortunately, the star’s hair is entirely too otherworldly for my taste. The height of the pouf just looks silly, instead of finishing her look off strong.

What do you think? Is this look a win, or does the hair detract from the gorgeous gown?

great dress, bad hair & makeup.

The hairstyle is a bit ridiculous and does bring the look down for me, she wears the dress well otherwise, glad she didn’t wear a necklace to allow the focus to be on the belt.

Love the gown, but that’s it. Her hair is awful and the makeup way too much.

      Agree.

Gorgeous dress. I think her makeup would have been fine without the dreadful hair. With it it looks a little stark.

      Again I totally agree.

I just love the dress! Don’t even pay attention to the hair

Same here; I had to look again when I read the comment on the hair: too mesmerised by the dress.

this is such a great dress but why oh why go with that hair??? this is so baffling, I swear celebs will never cease to amaze me with their god aweful hairstyles sometimes.

    I think she looks amazing.

Love it from the eyebrows down, beautiful gown!

I can overlook the hair. She is simply on FIRE. It’s kind of like receiving everything on your wishlist for Christmas but having no tree. Who cares?!? I love the belt, love the orange, love Elizabeth’s confidence.

    great dress, silly hair

That’s basically Amanda Seyfried’s dress for Les Miserables’ premiere in orange – she looks Ok – strongly dislike that hairstyle

  14. Kylee February 25, 2013 at 19:49 #

For some reason, I’m loving the poof. I love the orange, too. I’m glad she went sans necklace.

  15. MaddyEliza February 25, 2013 at 21:44 #

She looks stunning and I love the dress, but the hair is unfortunate. :(

  16. EmmaWoodhouse February 25, 2013 at 22:25 #

Would have loved it if the bodice were straight across. Love it from the belt down, but the revealing bodice and that hair make it wrong for me.

  17. firien February 25, 2013 at 22:59 #

her hair indeed looks silly but it doesn’t distract me from everything else that is stunning.

  18. Liz February 26, 2013 at 00:20 #

Love the look, but I kind of wish she had kept the necklace.

  19. Aline February 26, 2013 at 01:31 #

The dress is just so beautiful, too bad she went for such a weird hairstyle.

  20. Christine February 26, 2013 at 03:35 #

I didn’t even notice the hair. LOL. Love the gown.

i just pursed my lips in perplexity when i saw this! it’s absolutely “vexing”! the gown is so friggin amazing and the hair is so friggin awful and i luv elizabeth banks because she does different on the RC but i am SO VEXED!

  22. Prian February 26, 2013 at 12:20 #

forget the hair, the makeup is god harsh, tacky, and aging

  23. Jess2 March 6, 2013 at 13:31 #

The hair is bad but I can overlook it because the rest of the look is fantastic! I am crazy about the dress!
