While many of the men in attendance at the 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday opted for the usual dark suits, several of the actors celebrated the warm temperatures with light colours. The event was held in Santa Monica, California.
Bradley Cooper: Now here’s something you don’t see much of anymore. Bradley is wearing an Armani three-button, grey suit. He matched his suit with a tan waistcoat, a white shirt and distressed brown shoes. I like the colour combination in the look, but he doesn’t look very polished. His pants are too long and those shoes don’t do his suit justice.
Andy Samberg: As the host of the show Andy looked incredibly dapper in a perfectly tailored tuxedo that featured a green, shawl lapel jacket. Under the tux, Andy wore a white French cuff shirt, black studs and matching cuff links. He styled his it all with a black bow tie, a white pocket square, a white flower on his lapel and Bruno Magli shoes.
Matthew McConaughey: Nominated for his role as the lead in ‘Killer Joe,’ Matthew showed off his trim body in a more casual outfit by Dolce & Gabbana. He wore a charcoal coloured waistcoat with matching pants and a striped shirt. The highlight of Matthew’s getup was the pop of colour from his Tod’s blue shoes. He also accessorized with a stylish sunglasses and a great timepiece on his wrist.
Common: Keeping his colours coordinated, the rapper-turned-actor donned a charcoal notch lapel suit. He gave it some colour with a royal blue shirt, which he paired with an interesting tie that was both charcoal and blue. He finished it off with black shoes. It was a nice, simple look but his pants were just a tad long.
Jeremy Renner: The A-list actor wore a very nicely tailored three-piece notch lapel Dolce & Gabbana suit. Everything looked fantastic, especially his hair, except for the collar on his shirt. It’s all about the little things. A skinny tie and skinny lapels requires a skinnier collar. All in all, Jeremy looks good.
Chris Tucker: Chris hasn’t looked amazing on the red carpet lately. This outfit doesn’t help his case. Pairing a white buttonless dinner jacket with a pair of jeans is never a good idea. And somehow, with all that going on, the buttons on his shirt are still distracting.
Mark Duplass: Last seen in ‘Zero Dark Thirty,’ Mark arrived on the red carpet clad in a traditional grey, peak lapel suit. Along with his suit he sported a white spread collar shirt, and a navy pindot tie. The brown leather boots were a nice twist to his outfit, but I wish he would have buttoned his jacket.
Cameron Silver: As always, Cameron spiced it up more than most of the others, but he looked great doing so. Fully outfitted for spring, Cameron wore a Joe Fresh white, double-breasted suit off the Spring 2013 collection along with his sleeves rolled up. A Givenchy olive green shirt and a Hermès tie in a matching shade of green accompanied the suit. He finished off his look beautifully with Generic Surplus shoes, a Rod Keenan hat, and a Piaget watch.
Daniel Radcliffe: The 23-year-old English actor looked amazing and modern in well-tailored navy suit. Pairing it with a denim shirt and a multi-coloured plaid tie made for great look. I would have preferred brown shoes to make it even more modern, but the classic black wingtips still work well.

I like Daniel Radcliffe, Common, Jeremy Renner and Matthew McConaughey looks the most.
Surprised at how disheveled Bradly Cooper look.
bradley… swoon (even though he is beard is a bit scruffy!)
Matthew McConnaughey and Common are my favourites. Kudos to Bradley Cooper for wearing something different, but this suit is so ill fitted.
It seems to me that Bradly took the whole “Independent Spirit” thing too literally.
Bradley? What the hell?
None of this looks stands out imo. It wasn’t a good morning for the guys lol.
I’m quite speechless about Bradley Cooper, the suit is not particularly beautiful, the pants are too long (why american actors often make this fashion mistake?) and the shoes are incredibly ugly. No one should wear them, anywhere. I like M. McConaughey’s shoes, and he looks cool.
Disappointed by Bradley, as the suit could have been fabulous if he had 1) straightened the collar 2) hemmed the pants 3) chosen better shoes. I like Matthew, Common, Daniel, and Cameron (surprisingly!) here, but Jeremy Renner is my favorite.
Common is my favourite.
For a more casual look I like Matthew McC., and also Cameron on this occasion – his look is fun, fresh, stylish and put together tastefully this time.
For more dressed-up, Andy´s host look is lovely, and Jeremy Renner looking really good and sharp (the collar problem aside).
Daniel also looks good, but considering the relaxed nature of the event (and not counting the host) my picks are Cameron and Matthew.
Daniel Radcliffe looks great! Those British guys sure know how to pick a well fitting suit. Especially in the pants department.
I love Cameron Silver’s look. It’s a very nice combination of snappy and relaxed, just perfect for the event.
The other two I really like are Daniel Radcliffe and Common. Yes, Common’s pants are a bit too long but I love that royal blue.
I adore Matthew McConaughey’s and Common’s outfits! But all look nice in general…
