Kelly Rowland posed for photos at the 6th Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday.
The singer, whose album ‘Talk a Good Game’ drops later the year, wore a frock from Fendi Resort 2013 with t-strap heels and a gold, chain link bracelet.
The navy and yellow dress is on-trend with spring’s color-blocking look, but unfortunately the dramatic sleeve seen in the lookbook is much more deflated in real wear on Kelly. Plus, the down hairstyle masks any potential sleeve volume from view.
Don’t get me wrong, Kelly looks good and very appropriate for the luncheon event, but I’m underwhelmed by look because I know the sassy, risk-taking fashion sense she has. Remember her peekaboo Grammy gown and this magical mirrored number? That’s the edge I’m used to seeing Kelly in, and I wish she hadn’t strayed so far.
Bianca Balti and Abigail Spencer have also worn this two-hued dress. Who do you think it suits best?

Great color on her. This makes her waist teeny-tiny. Though I prefer Kelly’s more fitted approach to the model’s, I would have preferred the skirt a few inches longer. I like the messy hair and think it helps sass-up the look, which I find to be just right for the event.
Thanks! I was trying to figure out why I liked this more on Abigail Spencer and then your comment gave me the answer. It’s the length. Shortening it takes away a lot of the sophistication.

Bianca all the way. I like the colors on her a lot but Kelly’s tighter version, poorly styled, is a let down from the sophistication of the model’s look and the fun of Bianca’s.
I swear yall should feel ashamed. Bianca looks better?!!!!! OMGGGGGG It fits Kelly like a glove, she has a body to die for, she looks superioooooor to say the least.
I think her hair really brings the look down, but the more fitted approach is nice. Bianca still wore it best though.
