Selena Gomez joined her ‘Spring Breakers’ co-star Vanessa Hudgens at the Paris premiere of the film, held at Le Grand Rex on Monday.
While Vanessa took a saccharine approach in her pink pouf of a dress, Selena left her Disney days far behind and tested the boundaries in a skin-flaunting, glittery Gucci dress.
Perhaps she was showing Justin Bieber just what he’s missing.
I did appreciate the vibrant turquoise blue-hue of this little number, while the firework of embellishment at the top was a playful, if not slightly overdone, touch.
But the frock’s abbreviated length, a dare-to-be-bare side view and its gaping back, not to mention the disco-ball effect of the shimmering paillettes, put this dress past movie-premiere chic and into party-hearty Studio 54 territory—especially with that shiny metallic shoe.
Furthering the effect, Selena wore a high-volume, teased updo and mirrored the colour of her dress with a heavy blue-tinged smokey eye and a nude pout.
Is it just me, or did good style literally disappear on its own Spring Break at this premiere?

ugh it’s also the backdrop. tacky tacky tacky. nothing can look chic against it. i get why the backdrop looks like that because it fits with the movie image but imagine if you were to put kerry washington’s best dressed look up against that poster? ew.
Too revealing for my tastes. The shoes also don’t go with this dress. The only thing I like is the colour of the dress.

Her team trying transform her image for this R rated movie into a more mature woman just backfired. She looks like a cheap hooker. She doesn’t exude sex appeal at all, just tacky attention seeking youngster with her chest purposefully exposed. Shockingly the least worst of all the actresses from this premiere, and that says a lot about them.
No matter what she wears or how old she is she still looks 16 to me.

This had so much potential for me when I saw her with the other girls, but if a dress is that short you should really make sure you’re a bit more clothed in other areas.
Does she think this is her concert or something? Her dress and makeup clearly trying to say “welcome to my Disney glitter teen pop tour”.
She should have had either the short length and no side boob, or the side boob and a longer length. Both together makes this look cheap and trashy. Which is a shame, because I love the color and the shape of the dress.

I love the color, and the fanlike details at the neckline, but that’s it. This is SO tacky, short, revealing, and aside from the hair and shoes as bad as Vanessa’s look in its own way!

wow… I like. And I this this is the first (and likely only) time I’ve commented on her because she always looks like a 12 year old. She looks her age. It’s hot and it’s appropriate given the movie she is promoting.

The back of dress is amazing. Selena looks so beautiful.
If you think this blue dress was in bad taste, just look at the black backless pant suit with zippers that she wore next! She looks like she bought both outfits at Fredericks of Hollywood! Seriously! She has always been hit or miss. She is a young young woman trying to get grown up parts. She might as well pose in Penthouse! Maybe that’s next. Afterall, she is Hispanic and from Texas, what did you expect!

She looks great! They can not speak of vulgarity when used most revealing dresses and transparencies. I think she looks great and youthful. You criticize for choosing looks very mature. She looks beautiful.
The revealing sides are not good, nor is her makeup.
