Kate Mara attended the Vanity Fair and Juicy Couture Celebration of the 2013 Vanities Calendar with Olivia Munn last night at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
The ‘Deadfall’ actress wore a floral appliqué skirt and brocade bralette from the Peter Som Spring 2013 collection.
Although her bare midriff is right on trend for the season, by pairing the skirt and top with a satin-trimmed black Juicy Couture blazer, Mara throws off the proportion of the ensemble. Also, adding the nude platform peep-toes makes the entire look heavy, and it weighs her down.
I would’ve loved to have seen Kate get outside her comfort zone and wear this look like it came down the runway. She has the figure for it, after all.

I like the slightly shorter skirt on the model. Kate’s look isn’t working at all.
The blazer, the shoes, and the longer length are killing this. It’s a shame because, as FC says, she could have pulled this off if she had come closer to the runway version.
The blazer is so out of place. It would’ve been a great look otherwise.
She should’ve left the blazer at home. What’s the point of wearing a midriff top if you’re covering it up?
No. No to crop tops, no to clunky peep-toes, no to awkward blazers and no to beige.
And no to the way she presents herself. Girl, stand up straight, throw your shoulders back, point those toes straight ahead and present yourself like the beautiful woman that you are.

It’s not that great to begin with imho, but the blazer is just wrong.
She looks more lifeless than her sister… The jacket, cute, is nonsense with the ensemble.
This look isn’t working at all, Kate looks very self conscious she isn’t rocking it on any level
The styling really let her down here, we can’t see the gorgeous pieces underneath the blazer.
