Emmy Rossum was in Mexico City last night, where she was promoting her latest movie, ‘Beautiful Creatures’.
The actress took to the red carpet at the Cinemex Antara for the premiere wearing a Zuhair Murad Spring 2013 bold red dress.
We love Emmy for her effortless style, but this whole look feels like an upgrade from the ethereal look she usually gives us to something sassier.
Her chiffon pleated dress with a peplum detail and gold waistband was styled with nude python pumps, rose-gold Katerina Maxine jewels, a high bouffant, a bronzed glow and extreme cat-eyes.
As always, Emmy is undeniably beautiful, but there is just too much bronzer for my liking on this occasion – it doesn’t ruin the look for me, though.

Gorgeous except for the shoes. What a look killer! Why not the runway shoes!
I agree she need to lay of the bronzer…I feel like wiping my screen with Simple makeup remover wipes.
Don’t care for this dress on her – she looks thick-waisted and wide in the hips. Not loving hair, makeup and esp. shoe choice.
The skirt really bothers me – the way it’s hanging, the bottom-heavy shape it gives her, the length that doesn’t flatter her legs (or maybe it’s just the way she’s standing). Even the jewellery doesn’t look right to me. I may change my mind about this later but right now I don’t think this look is working well.
The fact that its so unflattering to her waist is also what annoys me. The model’s waist also seems relatively thick in the lookbook photo, so perhaps it’s a problem with the dress?
if she wore a delicate sandal this look would have been incredible.
Her styling kills the sassy vibe of the dress. Her hairstyle and nude pumps feel too mature.
I also think that her styling is wrong.
I agree.
Like the dress but not feeling the shoes.
A very rare miss for Emmy Rossum.
I love the dress on her and I could forgive the so-so shoes, but the make-up and bouffant hair bring the whole look down.
+1, the color of the dress is nice. I didn’t recognize her — and not in a good way.
I agree that this isn’t her best look, but she looks beautiful nonetheless.
100% BDOTW in my book
She is gorgeous and I love how she is so consistently chic! The dress is lovely, I love her hair and earrings–my only nitpick is the shoes, which don’t go.
I liek her but hate the dress
Love this look for Emmy, feels really different for her. Really wish she opted for the runway shoes.
It’s actually a great dress with a lot of potential, but it falls short on Emmy, especially when compared to the model. The styling is a little lackluster too.
This is just okay, she’s done sooo much better in the past. Like the colour of the dress, but the cut makes me think of hotel curtains for some reason, and the styling… oh well. The look on her face (a split second obviously, but still) seems to say it all… it seems to say that she isn’t quite convinced either.
Maybe the styling is wrong, or this dress is just not for her? Cause nothing looks appealing here.
I love this look on her! She looks to me like she’s channeling some of the 40′s and 50′s screen sirens. Feminine and sassy!
Love this dress & her hair being up.
I like this look, it’s usual pretty elegance with a bit of sass. The up-do, winged eyes and drop earrings and gives it a slightly sexy retro vibe. While I prefer her pumps to the lookbook sandals I’d maybe swap them for rose gold pumps.
She’s unrecognizable with the bronzer. The dress makes her look wide.
In the first glance I didn’t like the dress- it looked like dresses I used to wear in my childhood!
But now, Its growing on me, Its cute and adorable and I don’t mind the styling !
I think she looks so beautiful i adore the dress, its so feminine and classy ,im in the minority here though!
i’m sorry to b saying this about emmy but this look just feels wrong! in my opinion it’s the hair more than the shoes and i really can’t get past the overdone bronzer. she’s so beautiful naturally she would have looked much better with less make up. it’s fine. because she’s always so consistent.
Great colour on her but I am not liking her hair on this occasion.
