Keeping her look strictly neutral, Jessica Chastain attended the 2013 Writers’ Guild Awards held at the JW Marriott Los Angeles at L.A. LIVE in California on Sunday.
The actress wore a Christian Dior Resort 2013 frock.
Diamond Harry Winston jewels and Jimmy Choo ‘Famye’ sandals complemented her nude silk bustier and silk tulle skirt.
Usually I find looks like this to be one note, but I love the simplicity of the look.
The only thing I would add to this look is a tonal belt to give more definition to her waist.
Keeping the nude theme going, Jessica applied a matte nude lip colour and styled her hair into a braided updo.

Nop. sorry. She looks washed out. The bodice makes me cringe. Also , horrid hair style. Never saw Jessica in such an epic fail.
Her Calvin Klein look at the Golden Globes is far worst than this.
+1. Cringe worthy. Way too sweet. Painful in fact, like an aching tooth.
I dislike everything about this look, especially the color and the wrinkly, ill-fitting bodice.
The bodice is ghastly.
+2
When I saw this, I recoiled in terror. The color is horrible on her, and the detailing around the waist makes me look like she’s wearing a luxe pool floaty.
The bodice is horrible indeed, and the whole thing is just too one-note bland and ´mother of the bride´ for me.
The color is terrible on her. Completely washes her out. The bodice is bothersome. I only like her shoes.
OMG – what happened?? Its awful.
This is beyond terrible. Not a good look.
No, no, no.
The dress itself is quite bad, plus the bodice is not flattering at all on her, making her look really boxy.
The colour is washing her out (probably for the first time in my life I’m wishing that someone would have worn the black version of something instead). Makeup and hair are also quite aging.
She’s so ups&downs on the red carpet…Let’s hope this is the down before a big up at the Oscars.
ANY other color would have been better.
I like this look, but I agree that she needed a belt.
This dress makes her figure look like an ironing board. Not flattering. I really like the sandals, but that’s about it. Hair down would have been nice, as would a bolder lip color or a necklace. Simplicity can be great when the dress speaks for itself, but in this case there is nothing spectacular enough about the dress to stand alone with no accessories/color.
With the different textures, the shape of the skirt and that the nude shade isn’t washing her out but quietly working with her colouring I think she looks kind of sweet.
My immediate reaction was “Ew”. Awful color. Terrible design.
Can’t say I love this either. She would have looked better in the black version and with her hair down. Too severe.
the creases on the bodice are just ghastly. this top should have been made with fine wool instead of satin, it’s like a disgusting wrapped bum.
I realize this is terrible–washing her out, messy bodice, etc–but for some reason I don’t hate it. The skirt part and shoes are cute!
Awful, H2T.
Are you going to cover Amy Poehler? I really liked her outfit at the awards.
I don’t like the dress itself but Jessica’s styling is great. The shoes are gorgeous!
