Goya Toledo In Elie Saab Couture – 2013 Goya Cinema Awards

Goya Toledo In Elie Saab Couture - 2013 Goya Cinema Awards

Goya Toledo attended the 2013 Goya Cinema Awards held at Centro de Congresos Principe Felipe in Madrid, Spain on Sunday.

The actress wore one of my favourite looks from the Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture collection.

Sadly, her styling lets her look down.

Why she opted for a silver necklace with the gold gown with intricate embroidery, I will never understand.

Not only is it not complementary, but a gown with this much bling doesn’t need any jewellery.

My second gripe about this look is the hair. I mean… it is just awful: straggly looking and not befitting of a gown, let alone an Elie Saab Couture gown.

She stretches the neckline and makes it look much less appealing than it did on the model

Her hair and necklace ruins this look.

            +4. Ruins it completely !
What is the use of wearing such a gorgeous creation if you want people to just look at your awful hair and a necklace which is worn without any reason!

+5. So sad she ruined such a stunning dress

the necklace and the hair are so wrong for that magnificent dress…..I guess now no one else who wear it

Goya Toledo wore a similar dress last year, also by Elie Saab.

I find it funny that last year’s dress was also worn on the runway by Karlie.

        :D Haha nice observation ;)

I wouldn’t wear my hair like that with sweatpants to go to grocery store let alone an exquisite gown to an awards show. Jewellery with an Elie Saab dress, couture no less, makes no sense- the dress is a glamorous piece of art.

At first I thought she had the hair like that because of the weather, but when she presented a prize I saw she/her stylist did on purpose. I don’t get it at all. But I believe the neckclace bothers me even more than the hair

Sometimes when I see such beautiful couture gowns I think: “This dress is so stunning that it can’t be worn wrongly”…And then some celeb wears it with terrible styling and proves me wrong.

She should have left the dress do the talking.

p.s. Karlie looks amazing on the runway.

    • Beta February 18, 2013 at 14:09 #

      totally! love Karlie!

This dress is AMAZING. I’m just not feeling the way Goya Toledo is posing in it. She makes it look so unflattering

  10. Beta February 18, 2013 at 14:08 #

cannot agree more with you Catherine, the hair, I mean, what were they thinking?? :|
    the necklace is off also.
a pity because the gown is amazing and Goya is so pretty!

  11. Denise February 18, 2013 at 15:26 #

“Bad hair day” award. Pity about that gorgeous dress.

  12. Zissou February 18, 2013 at 15:31 #

I actually enjoy the necklace because of how much more revealing the dress is because of her bigger breasts. I think it fills the space nicely.
Not only that – I actually kind of enjoy the hair. I think she rock’ed it up.

  13. Grace Patricia February 18, 2013 at 15:40 #

I dislike the dress (not very fond of nude/golden embroidered, lace dresses), the hair and the necklace.

  14. Lisa February 18, 2013 at 15:41 #

This is truly a crime against fashion. So sad at the possibility no one else will wear this dress now. What a waste…

  15. Yeliz February 18, 2013 at 15:52 #

Another case of stunning gown ruined by some very bad styling.

  16. Aline February 18, 2013 at 17:41 #

Ugh no! I feel so offended when someone ruins an Elie Saab dress like this. Seriously, what could she be possibly thinking to choose to style her hair like… that?!!?!?

  17. Prudence February 18, 2013 at 18:23 #

how can you ruin such a stunning gown with such awful styling to this extent? like did she glance in the miror and think ” wow my hair looks splendidly messed up” and walked out??!!!

  18. Sa'adatu February 18, 2013 at 20:49 #

I wonder why I would have the opportunity to wear an Elie Saab dress and then ruin it.What were she and her stylist thinking?I’m sorry but I’m deeply offended.

  19. Alex February 18, 2013 at 21:16 #

    That hair is atrocious!
A beautiful gown ruined. Surely it’s a privilege to wear these gowns, so why would you do this?

  20. EmmaWoodhouse February 18, 2013 at 22:29 #

I love the intricate gold detailing and what looks like gold metallic banding, but the plunging neckline and sheer skirt give this look a no from me even before she ruined it with bad styling.

  21. caroline February 18, 2013 at 23:05 #

If I am a witch I am going to transform these celebs to a poison arrow frog for ruining stunning gowns like this!!!!!!!!!

    • Rashmi February 19, 2013 at 12:21 #

      :D:D:D

  22. Saree February 19, 2013 at 05:58 #

I personally think I’m growing tired of these Elie Saab dresses. As amazing and detailed as they are, I feel they’ve been worn to fulfilment – and everything about this look furthers that for me.

  23. Jess2 February 19, 2013 at 11:27 #

I also really loved this dress on the runway but it didn’t translate well off the runway. The colour looks grubby and the styling is heinous!!
