Paloma Faith In Nicholas Oakwell – 2013 BAFTAs

Time and again, British singer-songwriter Paloma Faith has proven she’s none too shy to flaunt her wild-child flair on the red carpet. The 2013 BAFTA Awards hosted at the Royal Opera House in London, England were no exception.

Her Nicholas Oakwell design from the Spring 2012 Couture collection featured a flurry of sparkling embellishment smattered onto the silvery grey gown. The keyhole detail showed just enough skin to stay sophisticated.

But even all that glitzy dazzle couldn’t detract from the outrageous orange sculpture that was her hair.

The ‘Picking up the Pieces’ songstress paraded out the quirk factor with her elaborate ‘do; a twisted and turning riff on a beehive, accented with vintage-looking De Beers diamond hair jewelry.

An exaggerated brow and sleepy cat eye, along with a bright red lip, completed the beauty explosion.

Did you find Paloma’s BAFTAs entrance to be grand or just garish?

garish, especially the hair it looks like a wig worn by a pantomime dame. normally her quirky style is good just not right now.

I think she looks GORGEOUS here! This is how this dress should be worn, looks better on Paloma than the model. Great colour on her, perfect for the red carpet!

Totally agree… Her look was original, and a refreshing departure from the predicable red carpet fashion. STAND OUT STUNNING!

UGH. The dress (sans keyhole) would have been an elegant though mature choice. Her hair is HEINOUS–really the worst apparatus I have ever seen on a person’s head in a long time. Her makeup is also harsh.

Love the gown and I don’t hate the hair. The entire look is less elegant than the runway version. She should have gone for either the cray cray hair or the statement face.

The dress is good, but the styling is awful. Terrible hair and brows!

The hair makes a joke of the dress.
