Fashion risk-taker Elizabeth Olsen attended the 2013 BAFTA Awards, held at the Royal Opera House in London this evening.
The actress wore a black-and-white romantic Chanel Fall 2011 Couture gown with tiered ruffles.
The blooming print updated the gown’s classic silhouette with a dose of artistic flair that lent a sweet feminine appeal to Olsen’s swoon-worthy ensemble.
She smartly kept her accessories to minimum, opting only for a sleek black clutch, to keep all eyes on her dramatic gown.

I would have liked to see her hair off her shoulders to really keep attention on the dress, but I like how the ruffles at her hips are a little less dramatic than the runway.
I like this look, she looks beautiful.
Love it!
The gown is one ugly mess, this is way too dowdy and ‘granny’ for my liking.
the hair needed to be pulled back neatly with such a fussy gown.
+1
The dress is stunning and Lizzie is such a beautiful girl, but I agree that the hair needed to be pulled back.
Either way, this goes on my best dressed list!
Stunning. Lizzie is absolutely glowing in this dress. It’s chic, and has a lot of personality so it’s not traditionally beautiful but very unique. Not something you’d forget after seeing it just once. Perfect for her.
Don’t like this at all. Chanel is just so predictable, and never good. Can’t remember the last time I liked something by the brand.
Ugh…hated this collection on the runway and have never seen it worn well off. It’s just a bad dress to start with. She is such a pretty girl but this does nothing for her.
The lines of this dress are unattractive and every element is overwrought. The effect is neither sharp nor pretty.
I really like Elizabeth Olsen as a brunette, though, and her smile is so lovely and sweet!
I prefer the flair of peplum on the runway but I still kind of like this. I’m vacillating whether hair-up would have been ageing or maybe just a ponytail to show off the neckline.
Also on board with this. Can’t resist the pattern and the texture and her relaxed styling. A yes!
Let’s face it, Karl Lagerfeld isn’t interested in making red carpet style dresses- not that he can’t or doesn’t know how to cause he has made many over the years (the Nicole Kidman dresses in the ad and for the Oscars, a few SJP dresses, that glorious Michelle Williams dress at the 2011 Oscars to name a few) but this is not what his fashion is about – so off course, the Chanel PR and marketing departments want to have the brand represented on the red carpet but they are working most of the time with dresses that were originally made for a different clientele and with a different purpose in mind – so they try to look every time for a celebrity with a “quirky” sense of style but still it doesn’t always work – I guess the Chanel dresses should be taken for what they are, they do not compare to the Saab, the Dior and the Valentino, they are in different league – not necessarily better or worse, just different
such a drama queen…
that dress looks weird.
Don’t like this – the dress is a bit fussy and non-descript. Her hair needs grooming in some way.
Love it. She is such a beautiful girl!
Not a big fan of the fringe. She should have worn her hair up to show off the details.
