Solange Knowles managed to make it out of the East Coast before the snow storms hit New York City today, to attend the Grammy Week LA Music Industry reception held at The Getty House in LA yesterday evening.
Doing what she does best, pushing the fashion envelope and delighting with colour, the singer wore a Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2013 suit.
This glorious explosion of colour has me gasping for air. There is not a single thing I do not love about this look.
The splash-print look, which is an exuberant spin on a classic suit, was styled with a simple white shirt, a blue Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch and black sandals.
We know Solange loves to experiment, so I’m glad the shirt is solid and not a contrasting print, which she has channelled once before.
Some of you aren’t so keen on Solange’s love of print and colour. Does this make you a believer?

I´m a fan of her style, I like how she keeps things exciting with prints and colours, but this getup isn´t working for me, it looks a bit comical to me. Love the clutch.
Solange rocks this look.Love her style!
Such a BDOTW worthy look! LOVE
I agree. I didn’t liked her previous looks, since they were print overload, but I love this one. She looks amazing.
+2
Agreed!
Can’t get enough of Solange and her love of print
I really like this suit on her. The shoes are fine and the clutch is perfect.
And yet,…. that high-neck, collared, white shirt just doesn’t work for me. If she had worn a knit scoop-neck like the model’s, whether white or black (or blue or red), I think it would have been fantastic.
I like this. Great colors and very her. Love the clutch. But I must ask, why drawstring pants for this suit?
I would guess that the drawstring is to give it a more relaxed vibe than a fully tailored suit would have.
And now that you mention it, that may be why I find the stiff, office-like blouse a bit “off.”
Yeah, in that respect the scoop-neck would definitely fit better. I just can’t help thinking pajamas/sweatpants when I see a drawstring.
this is a great look. she has toned down a bit on the prints part (though i don’t mind prints at all) but anything else would have been too much. i luv that clutch!
love, love, love it!
A couple of recent looks veered into print overload land but this look is fab. Love the red lip and the clutch.
I’ve always loved her! I think the first time I saw her featured her, I fell head over heels. <3
perfect
She’s a had a really good week fashion-wise but this is probably my favourite look. It’s all over great. I prefer the white shirt/black sandals over the black top/white sandals in the website styling.
Her print fever was getting out of hands but this is much, much better.
I like this.
Cute, though way too OTT for me. I like the color combo though and how she has fun with prints.
