‘The Sessions’ star Helen Hunt attended the 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon on Monday at The Beverly Hilton hotel in California.
The Oscar nominee chose a pewter-toned, knee-length dress by Dolce & Gabbana for the occasion. It was straightforward and simple—and safe.
But this classic approach works for the actress, and the understated sophistication was there.
The square neckline remained uncluttered with any jewels, and the ruched fit was flattering.
The shoes, on the other hand, were not. A dynamic pair might have elevated this look, but the light nude, strappy Jimmy Choo sandals did nothing for the dress.
Minimal earrings and a bangle, along with lightly tousled waves and radiant natural makeup, were the finishing touches.

Pretty but bland. She’s been playing it too safe lately.
I agree. The dress style looks very nice on her, but the shoes are pretty terrible. I would love to see some color on her. The overall effect here is as dull as porridge (which I hate), though I say that with the utmost respect for her.
A very safe look indeed. A bot on the boring side though.
I agree.
im a fan of helen hunt’s minimalist elegant style and I love this look… from the ankles up. I agree that the shoes dont match. metallic strappy sandals or maybe something with a bit of sparkle would have been great
+1
Jeez who did her makeup!
I was wondering the same thing! Or maybe it’s a case of badly-applied botox giving her droopy eyebrows? Either way, yikes!
I think she chose that pair of shoes to match her concealer, which doesn’t match her skintone btw.
I loved her previous looks, but this time its no no noooooo!
I can live with this since this is a luncheon. She is appropriately dressed and looks lovely.
The dress is lovely but the Choos are killing this look!
