Isabel Lucas In Christian Dior – Christian Dior Sydney Boutique Opening

Isabel Lucas In Christian Dior - Christian Dior Sydney Boutique Opening

Isabel Lucas attended the opening of the Christian Dior boutique in Sydney, Australia today.

The blonde-haired beauty wore one of the bolder pieces from the Christian Dior Spring 2013 collection, which was this beautiful multi-coloured metallic organza strapless dress with a waterfall skirt.

My first thought was thank God the red carpet is black, as I fear her shoe choice may have put me off the overall look.

A green pair of strappy sandals would’ve been my choice, but I guess Isabel did make the right choice by allowing the focus to fall solely on the dress.

How would you’ve styled this look?

How would have I styled this look? Throwing the dress away and choosing another one!
Sorry but the dress in itself is ugly and unflattering, no styling could have saved it. It’s not the worst look of the week just because of Gemma Arterton’s Westwood dress.

    • Agathe January 31, 2013 at 15:19 #

Haha I totally agree. She looks like a little girl playing dress-up.
Maybe sleek hair, emerald green pumps and a different pose could have improved it, though.

I kinda agree with you. There is anything I like about this dress, the fabric looks quite cheap. But at least I would have chosen colorful sandals.

    • Luis January 31, 2013 at 15:32 #

True, this dress is a piece of garbage!

    • justme January 31, 2013 at 18:10 #

lmao seriously, that’s one of the worst dresses ever. Nothing can save THAT.

    • steph January 31, 2013 at 18:49 #

agreed…not sure what Dior was getting at with this frock.

    • Carla January 31, 2013 at 21:11 #

Me too!! The ugliest dress I’ve ever seen!

    • Jess2 February 1, 2013 at 09:51 #

Oh Mick, you echoed my thoughts perfectly, from throwing away the dress to Gemma’s disaster! Nice work my friend!
This just looks messy and unfinished. The waterfall skirt is giving off terrible 80’s vibes – wth was Raf thinking??

    • jones19 February 1, 2013 at 16:31 #

Couldn’t agree more. It looks like she wrapped a shiny gay pride flag around her. Ugliest dress I’ve seen in months.

    • Mandy February 2, 2013 at 01:42 #

I have my first contender for worst dressed of the year.

  2. minty000 January 31, 2013 at 15:00 #

    carnival is not here yet!!!

  3. Jai January 31, 2013 at 15:20 #

Yes, not wearing the dress would have been a good start.

  4. Christine January 31, 2013 at 15:23 #

This is a bad dress to begin with. Forget the styling, pick another dress. LOL. No one can make this work. Not even Cate the Great.

  5. Anne January 31, 2013 at 15:31 #

Yesterday, Lucy Liu wore a fancy toga; today, Isabel Lucas wears a parachute. I liked this dress on the runway- I think it benefits from movement and needs the bell-like structure. It falls lifeless on Isabel. And, my first thought for a shoe was the green strappy metallic pumps from Dior’s couture presentation earlier this month.

  6. Rebecca Z January 31, 2013 at 15:52 #

Have to agree with the others–the dress is really a looser. Maybe without the waterfall skirt….but probably not.

  7. Ramya January 31, 2013 at 16:04 #

This look feels very Carrie Bradshaw to me! Surprising that its still relevant…

  8. Joy January 31, 2013 at 16:24 #

Oh, Oh, Oh, I am disturbed. This is the worst fashion I’ve seen a long while. My sporty daughter looked at this picture and informed me sometimes she doesn’t get fashion. On this one, I agree. Please give me back Dior.

    • Devon January 31, 2013 at 18:27 #

I so agree with you…Raf is going too far to the left and this dress is just hideous.

  9. andrea January 31, 2013 at 16:55 #

I’m sorry to say this but Galliano would have NEVER let that go down the runway, let alone a dressform. What was Raf thinking??

  10. Nora January 31, 2013 at 17:07 #

I agree with everyone else. No styling could save this dress.

  11. Yeliz January 31, 2013 at 17:13 #

This dress looks so tacky, I wouldn’t even wear it yet styling it.

  12. Vera January 31, 2013 at 17:24 #

    AMAZING dress!!!

    • CNorth December 18, 2013 at 16:05 #

I’m sorry to say it’s atrocious!

  13. Marybeth January 31, 2013 at 17:33 #

It looks like she was hastily wrapped in plastic and foil party decorations. Is this a Project Runway challenge or something? If so, it’s OUT!

    • Rashmi February 1, 2013 at 04:11 #

      Lol !
It looks like a rejected project where they were left with no fabrics just designs :D!

I do like the color pallets used, so I really wish they remake the dress with some better fabric.

  14. Valeria B. January 31, 2013 at 17:53 #

She looks like a half-opened present. This colorful wrapping paper (dress) is really bad.

  15. dee January 31, 2013 at 18:45 #

    Horrible dress.

  16. Leeann January 31, 2013 at 19:47 #

I hated the dress on the model. I hate it on her. It is hideous.

  17. arang January 31, 2013 at 20:45 #

Ummm … this is where I freely admit that sometimes I don’t get fashion. I agree with Anne that the look falls rather lifeless here but even then! Just … no. Too, Isabel herself doesn’t appear to be very happy or confident wearing the dress and that really kills it for me.

  18. Nadine January 31, 2013 at 23:36 #

How ’bout shower shoes, this looks like a bath curtain.

  19. push101 February 1, 2013 at 00:20 #

On the dress itself, It doesn’t really seem like something I would guess was Dior.. its a cool dress maybe without the waterfall skirt and with more confidence

  20. EmmaWoodhouse February 1, 2013 at 01:42 #

I love bright shimmery colors, but this is a TERRIBLE look! Someone above mentioned Project Runway…if this look came down the runway Michael Kors would be all, “This looks like a beach towel morphed with a disco ball,” and Nina Garcia would question the contestant’s taste level and then Heidi would promptly ‘auf’ them. This dress is beyond bad!

  21. Dhppy February 1, 2013 at 02:12 #

For some time now, I have wanted Raf Simons out of Dior due to boredom, now it’s just for making this thing.

  22. Cris February 1, 2013 at 03:05 #

they totally deserved each other… shockingly horrible dress that reminds me of 60s curtains + z list actress.

    • manja February 1, 2013 at 09:14 #

haha this made me laugh so hard,so true

  23. Penny February 1, 2013 at 07:13 #

She’s dressed in a sweet wrapper

  24. Chaufforest February 1, 2013 at 07:48 #

This dres is hideous. No one can save this dress. Must be one of the ugliest creations ever. Wow! Now structure what so ever!

  25. Dressaddict February 1, 2013 at 13:31 #

My God, this dress is horrible! It looks like a giant bee caught in a giant celophane!

  26. Sebastian February 1, 2013 at 18:46 #

OMG! Are you All serious, Dior spring 13 is one of my favourite collections this dress is just amazing I dont really know what +36 are thinking….. Galliano? Really? That wasn’t Dior and neither clothes… I think he was great at sewing but designing? Hell no! I have sheen all his collections and people are criticizing RAF for 4 collections while Galliano did over 100 wrong collections

    • Princess Chi Chi February 2, 2013 at 23:49 #

Calm down, people are entitled to their opinions and in turn, so are you. I may not agree with you but I can respect your view, what I can’t respect is your LACK of respect.

  27. roxana February 1, 2013 at 22:22 #

i miss galliano so much. the last collections from dior are not spectacular, like galliano’s.

  28. Prudence February 1, 2013 at 23:05 #

she needs to be taller so that the train thing isnt soo low so some killer heels was needed or cutting off that part and her hair is a mess, like pull that together up in a bun.

  29. Vanity March 23, 2013 at 00:04 #

This reminds me of a lifesavers wrapper. Unraveling all of the colorful foil with the awful wax paper inside.
