I think it is safe to say that Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen is one of Jessica Chastain’s favourite designers.
She wore a red McQueen dress to the SAG Awards this weekend and another McQueen gown to the ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ premiere during Cannes Film Festival’s opening ceremony back in May; the red-haired beauty wore a beautiful light-pink Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 gown with Louis Vuitton jewels on that occasion.
At the time, I noted that the dress felt like it was missing one element. Cut to November and Gwei Lun-Mei showed us what that element was when she wore the same dress to the 49th Annual Golden Horse Awards.
It was the silver metal bow belt that was missing from this gorgeous frock.
That simple element improves the look ten-fold so Gwei Lun-Mei wins for me.

Gwei Lun-Mei for me too.
I do like the belt, but Gwei is so slightly built that the shoulder area of the gown seem overwhelming to me. Jessica for the win, for that reason.
I would like this dress if the U-neck didn’t plunge so low. That aside, it is far better on Gwei–with the addition of the belt and better poise.
The belt is a major reason for choosing Gwei Lun-Mei but I also preferred her slick back hair as opposed to the messy updo
Gwei Lun-Mei.
It´s a very easy win for Gwei – the gown works much better on her more delicate figure and her styling is impeccable.
gwei lun-mei for me, jessica looks an absolute snoozefest (as like most times)
It always pains me to see Jessica Chastain on the red carpet. She is gorgeous but never hits it out of the park. Always so close yet so far.
Gwei’s coloring is better for that pale shade of pink, and the silver belt brings the look together much better than without it.
