After topping the best-dressed list for her SAG Awards gown on Sunday, Nicole Kidman was back home to celebrate the 2nd Annual AACTA Awards held at The Star in Sydney, Australia this evening where she joined Cate Blanchett.
Supporting another London-based designer, Nicole wore an Erdem Spring 2013 summery frock.
The yellow strapless dress with a double-layered skirt, featuring light-blue floral embroidery and lace appliqués, was styled with nude peep-toe Brian Atwood ‘Evie’ heels and gold drop earrings with an aqua-blue stone.
I’m not as excited about this look as I should be as I don’t think this shade of yellow is right for Nicole’s pale complexion.
What do you think?

Who Was Your Best Dressed This Week?

I think she looks great.
She’s looking her best lately, but the color washes her out. But it’s a very pretty dress and the shoes are nice too.
one knocks it out of the ball park and the other doesn’t. this is such a beautiful dress that deserves a better outing…it’s ok..nicole’s had a great run otherwise..
You said it, I can’t get past the wrong color against her skin.
Yellow is a VERY VERY difficoult colour for blondes, expecially if very pale skinned.
I’m not liking this on her, but the dress itself is really pretty.
A beautiful dress, but the color is all kinds of wrong for her, and I really don’t like the styling (shoes, jewelry) and the makeup is strangely on the edge of garish. She can do (and has been doing) so much better.
This style of shoe has been underwhelming me lately. As for her complexion and the dress – yes. My immediate thought was that she needs to rethink her makeup.
Australia has some stylish ladies
She looks good
She has been looking good lately
I like it a lot
You are completely right FC…..she is too pale for this kind of yellow.
This is a lovely look, I adore the feminine dress and she styled it well. My only quibble is that the color doesn’t flatter her.
I agree with the above. Love it on the runway, but it’s not right for Nicole. The harsh lighting certainly cannot account for all of it.
Please, please, please go back to red hair. And please find a better makeup artist and hair stylist. The woman who wore that chartreuse Galliano — one of the most difficult colors EVER — could have handled this yellow. Leave the blonde for your BFF, Naomi W. Sincerely, CreoleLady.
+1
Lovely dress but the colors all wrong for her. Is anyone else distracted by the fact that her legs are a completely different color from her upper body?
YES! its bugging me bigtime.
I agreed. She’s too pale for that yellow but still looks lovely
I don’t like her hair parted in the middle. I like her better as a redhead. I don’t think the dress looks bad on her at all.
Not her best look. The shoes are not working with this dress.
The dress is lovely, although probably not the right shade for her. But her hair… please, Nicole, do something with your hair! This stick straight blonde ‘do is not working for you. Stop trying to copy your husband’s hair style. Please go back to your beautiful ginger locks and do something interesting with your hair.
I just don’t like the color but she look great.
I love it, but I also feel like her bff Naomi Watts is her new stylist!
I love the dress but it looks so much better on the tanned model though
