Gemma Arterton In Vivienne Westwood – 2nd Annual AACTA Awards

Gemma Arterton In Vivienne Westwood - 2nd Annual AACTA Awards

Following the Australian premiere of their latest movie, ‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’, Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner stepped out for a second night in a row to attend the 2nd Annual AACTA Awards held at The Star in Sydney, Australia this evening.

Jeremy looked very handsome in a classic black Dior Homme tux, while Gemma wore another British designer, Vivienne Westwood.

Her off-the-shoulder lilac shimmering gown was styled with the same Christian Dior Spring 2013 shoes we saw her wear a few weeks ago with a different Westwood dress.

The dress does a wonderful job of showcasing Gemma’s gorgeous hourglass figure, but the shoes don’t work for me.

Considering her décolletage is on display, an open-toe shoe would’ve been preferred to create a better balance.

Opting for a pop of bright colour, Gemma’s lips looked luscious in a punchy pink shade, with silver jewels and a braided updo providing the finishing touches.

From the neck up, she looks great but I think the dress is hideous, and the shoes, OMG the shoes are awful with this dress…….

      Agree on all points !

      I agree.

      100% agree

    • justme January 30, 2013 at 20:16 #

      I agree as well.
Granted I want to tuck those two strands of hair behind her ears, her face still looks lovely. From the neck down though, it’s a disaster.

Totally agree RE:the hair. My fingers are itching!

I’m not impressed with this look at all. its just…off, somehow.

I don’t like this. Her Erdem look was SO much better.

Love the pink lip but from the neck down, this look is a hot mess! I have never been a fan of Gemma’s style but her last two looks were amazing. Unfortunately this look is not even close. I love VW but this dress is terrible, as is the shoe choice.

I don’t like this look at all. The dress is unflattering; it makes her look quite wide at the hip. The shoes are awful and, although I like those earrings, that loose hair at the front is ruining them…
Pity, because she’s really rather gorgeous.

Waist-up, I was sold on this look…but the oddly shaped skirt and ugly shoes do nothing for me.

Sadly, I think this is a mess from head-to-toe. Only thing I like are her earrings. Her Erdem look was LEAPS better

So many wrongs in one photo.
Shoes, fabric, color, cut and style.
    From the neck up, lovely.

Totally agree with the other comments, this dress isn’t doing a beautiful job of anything.

It looks like she went from size 0 to 12 in 24 hours.
How can she do this after her wonderful Erdem look?

  10. Andrea January 30, 2013 at 13:38 #

Waist and up is beautiful! And I love her curves.

  11. sasa January 30, 2013 at 13:39 #

Is the dress see-through or am I imagining things?

  12. Lex January 30, 2013 at 14:11 #

Is it just me or does she have a very small head for her body? In all her pics something looks weird but I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe VERY broad shoulders? Maybe she’d look better with big hair and a v-neck?

  13. Christine January 30, 2013 at 14:18 #

This is not a good look for her. Unflattering.

  14. fromchi-town January 30, 2013 at 14:52 #

This is a very confusing look. Neck up she looks great… but neck down its nothing short of a disaster!

  15. Moxie January 30, 2013 at 15:27 #

Hot mess. The shoes are the least of her problems. What is with the seams at the waist/hip area? They are creating an unfortunate outline and making her look wider than she is.

Looks like the typical dress you can really only appreaciate in movement. I love when actresses try new shapes, it´s so refreshing.

My first though was, is Gemma arterton pregnant?!! After her awesome Erdem look, we are clearly very toned down with this unflattering dove grey Vivienne Westwood look!! The off shoulder crumples adds bulk to her curvy frame, and it really unflatters her!! I do love her messy updo and slick of pink lipstick though!! Hope Gemma really brush up in her next Hansel and Gretel movie premieres, London or Berlin please?? Gemma ,brush it up now!!

  18. Pati January 31, 2013 at 20:21 #

Seriously, this must be one if the ugliest dresses I’ve seen in a long time!! The front looks like giant “Bridget Jone’s” panties! It’s hideous! And it doesn’t get any better in the chest area, not only does it seem to be see through – it also makes her look like she needs additional support and on top of that makes her look like an olympic swimmer. It’s a disaster. The only thing I like here is her make up.

I like this look from the neck up… I find this dress really unflattering on her and although I liked these shoes the last time she wore them, here, they make the look even worse.
