Among a sea of black, white, and metallic gowns, Rose Byrne stood out in an oversized floral print at Sunday’s SAG Awards.
A camelon of red carpet styles, the ‘I Give It a Year’ star looked refreshingly spring-like in a ruffled colour palette of yellow, coral and seafoam from Valentino Resort 2013.
To allow the major ruffles and bold pattern be the stars of the red carpet, the actress opted for understated jewels by Van Cleef & Arpels and a simple Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch.
To complete the glam style, Rose went with a retro-inspired beauty look with a bright pink pout and sculpted waves.
Do you think her wavy hair competed too much with the ruffles of the gown?

My only problem here is the hair.
But I really love the dress.
+1 The dress is really interesting for such an event and she ruined it with poodle hair
It´s lovely and refreshing, I like it, and I like her styling with the simple matching clutch and a colour pop via the bright pink lippie, her wavy hair works with the overall softness of the look imo.
I actually liked this look too.
Yeah, her hair is too extreme. I like everything else, it seem so ethereal and then the hair is so harsh. It should have a wispy hair do or something.
The hair is definitely overkill.
+1
I think the dress is gorgeous, so differente from all the black and white dresses we watched during the evening. But besides the hair, I think the make-up is too strong for such a dellicate dress.
Now when you have mentioned it, the wavy tresses do feel like conflicting with the wavy dress
But other than that, I love that she came up with something different for the RC
Too early for Spring florals. I was shocked to see Rose as a presenter wearing that dress.
Adoring the dress, so beautiful and unique on this red carpet. One of the best of the night, but for the hair, which feels totally off-key.
I love the dress but i CANNOT look past that ageing hair and make-up. She is almost unrecognisable. What a shame..
oh my! dat dress is a beauty in itself! i so wish dat she wudve gone for a romantic wispy updo*sniff sniff*
J’adore! J’adore! J’adore!

Love the dress but the OTT hair and harsh makeup is killing the look.
PRECISELY, that harsh 80′s contouring blush is killing the look…
How I wish her hair was styled differently, because I love this gown so much.
This looks so familiar…?
I really quite like the pattern, but unfortunately that’s about it.
Yes, I think the third time the pattern has appeared on this blog. Kasia Smutniak in Venice last year and then someone else later who wore it in a shorter length. It’s a soft, pretty print, I see why people are drawn to it.
Nice dress but don’t like her hair at all.
Rose Byrne is so beautiful. The dress is frumpy and hair is just as bad.
+1. When she came onstage, I didn’t recognize her and her ruffles stood out onstage. I dont like the dress, hair or makeup. This was a disappointment for me, but not that bad that it makes my worst dressed list.
I hate the hair and it kills me because this could have been my favourite of the night.
The hair ruins this for me.
The hair doesn’t work. Not a fan of the huge ruffles along the sides of the gown, but love the print.
I’m sorry but I absolutely HATE this dress. Definitely one of the worst dressed–if not THE worst–from this event. And I agree with the majority, the hair is too much.
I read so much snark about this gown on twitter, some of which had me rolling, but actually, I like this gown a lot. I found it to be a refreshing change from most other looks that night, and her styling was perfecting. She landed in the middle of my Top Ten.
The whole thing feels Downton Abby to me. I a huge Rose fan. Not feeling this at all. Hate the hair. One of my PR contacts wanted me to reprint the step by step How-To. Can’t bring myself to do it.
I love the dress but the stiffness of the hair ruins it.
