A diverse coterie of starlets held court at the Chanel Spring 2013 Couture presentation at the Grand Palais in Paris, including Clémence Poésy, Diane Kruger, Hailee Steinfeld and Rita Ora who all donned their own interpretations of the designer.
Karl Lagerfeld’s Couture runway was a study in gothic-tinged enchantment, but his front-row pretties were less coordinated in their kaleidoscope of looks that showed the many sides of Chanel.
Clémence Posey: The French actress kept things sleek and simple, albeit a bit one-note, in her grey tartan wool coat from Pre-Fall 2013. A black and blue Chanel bag (and a bright red pout) spiced up this look.
Diane Kruger: The German actress is a fashion girl, so it follows that her Spring 2013 black-and-white bustier dress would be ripped straight from the runway. But rather than the funky choker necklace and silver platforms, she went for a French schoolgirl vibe with a beret, a Chanel cross-body bag, Brian Atwood ‘David’ black suede boots and a side braid.
Hailee Steinfeld: The teen star also took the Pre-Fall 2013 collection for a spin with her multicolour cardigan, edged up with a black leather skirt and black cap. With Chanel’s neon yellow resin ‘Boy’ bag, this look ended up being a strange conglomeration of trends; it’s a wonder the young actress didn’t finish it off with a more dynamic shoe.
Rita Ora: The singer played the ultimate lady in red (and white) with her Spring 2013 cropped-sleeve, leather jacket and matching lipstick. But when worn over a lackluster white dress that scraped the floor and with a pair of heavy Alexander Wang leather lace up boots, this sassy songstress’s look may have pushed the boundaries of good fashion into sloppy territory.

Diane looks the best.
Definitely.
Diane wins for her confidence. Much as I love Hailee, the only thing I like about her look is the cardigan. Clemence looks a bit boring. Rita looks characteristically terrible.
+1
Hailee is a too try-hard.
Oh how amazing does Diane and Hailee look!! Love the schoolgirl vibe on Diane and adore the entire mixing done by Hailee.
um… … …
i dunt know what could i say, a mess!
Posy looks like just ate sb n shocked by the photo taken.
Daine just quite boring, shes dress like that thousand times
only Clémence and Daine look good the other two are a hot mess!
don’t like any of them
same here
That was a badly dressed front row.
Rita and her roots will never work for me.
It’s like a montage of How to wear Chanel and How to not to wear Chanel, with the latter being the two pictures on the right.
Hailee’s dressing like a 40 year old and Rita, well she just looks like a mess.
Diane is pure perfection (as usual) and though Clémence is a tad dull with all black she gets a pass for her Parisian coolness.
I don’t like any of them at all
Diane’s cutesy look is not my type but it works. Clemence is okay, the others are just bad. Hailee’s look is all over the place accessory-wise and well Rita is … Rita
I can only give a pass to the 1st two. Hailee – too mature for her and way too try-hard, Rita – just bad and tasteless.
Hailee and Diane should have swapped outfits. That dress is too young for Diane and Hailee’s is too old.
