Thandie Newton In Giles – 2013 Golden Globe Awards

Thandie Newton In Giles - 2013 Golden Globe Awards

Thandie Newton wore her second dress by a British designer at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA last night.

She sparkled in a Giles Spring 2013 mini dress, when everyone else donned a gown.

Thandie’s high-neck tulle cocktail dress, featuring all-over Swarovski crystal embellishments in a smashed-glass pattern, was styled with lilac ankle-strap peep-toes and a silver box clutch.

Had this dress been modified into a gown it would’ve been sensational.

Do you love this look or should Thandie have saved this for the after-show parties?

She should’ve saved this for the after parties or modified it into a gown, like you said FC. But she looks good nonetheless.

      +1. She has great legs.

I agree this should have been saved for the after parties or changed to a gown. Lovely though.

It looks like big shoulders and high necks are back.

She’s gorgeous but should have saved it!it was an awards night and truthfully noone wowed me!waiting for the Oscars and for you FC to wow me with your custom-made Roland Mouret!!

    :( I’m disappointed.

It’s kind of ice-skatery, so I don’t like that to start with…and it’s totally wrong for the event.

As with Rachel Weisz’s dress, I feel that only a younger actress should wear something this casual for an event like this (see Ariel Winter).

Love it! I think it’s perfect! It’s the Golden Globes, not the OSCARS after all. You have to save something. God I love Thandie.

Too short, young and girly for her and not right for the event. Thumbs down.

This dress is for a young girl

I think she looks divine. While i would’ve been interested to see this as a breathtaking gown i have to say she holds her own in this dress very well. The sparkles plus/on this shade of lilac on her is just sensational. Cute shoes to match too.

I think the shoes take the “black tie event” out of this outfit. Louboutin spike t-straps would have worked well with this.

I do think that she should have saved this for the after-party, this isn’t really event appropriate. I kind of get the feeling that this was a last minute choice with no gown on hand. I also don’t think this works with Thandie’s style and persona. I think this would work better on Ariel or Kiernan. I do loooove the shoes though, so cute!

This outfit needs sparkly shoes not summery shoes! and agree it would worked better as a gown for the event
