It was rather appropriate that Thandie Newton opted to wear a china blue shade to the BAFTA Los Angeles 2013 Awards Season Tea Party, held yesterday afternoon at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles in Beverly Hills, California.
Likewise fitting, she picked British label Temperley London for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts event.
There was a distinct ’50s chic flair about this Spring 2013 look, updated for now with the sheer and solid trend.
The swingy organza skirt with its horizontal ribbon stripes was pretty, although the extra lining that was not present on the runway took away some of the enticement.
I couldn’t help but wish that Thandie had picked one of the more vibrant crimson moments from the collection—and that she had done something different with her un-styled hair.

She looks good here. I like her version of the dress.
True about lining, this looks a bit boring waist down. But she looks good.
Love the dress on her, but I don’t like neither her shoes nor her hair. The clutch is nice.
She looks great as usual!
I think this look is beautiful. It’s classy and perfect for Tandie who doesn’t seem to age.
I too found this look perfect and classy. Maybe if it were somebody else I would find it a little boring. But she really carry this off.

The hair should’ve been pulled back, it’s a messy distraction. I like the fresh colour and glad she lined the skirt to make it appropriate plus the detailing on the top part keeps things a bit more interesting. I think it’s a good look for her for the daytime event.

I agree with FC, he hair should be up somehow
simply flawless.
A pretty retro updo would have been nice, the dress is adorable (lined) but I don’t like the vertical stripe by the neckline. The accessories are nice. It’s not as impeccable as Thandie usually does, but still good.
